Job Overview

The post holder is responsible for the successful coordination of ACE Program in the region of Greece under the guidance of the Project Coordinator. She/he will multitask, perform vigorous follow-up and get directly involved in the implementation of different activities related to the beneficiaries of the project, as well as the supervision and capacity-building of the teams.

Generic responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates and designs curricula for the educational project; researches and defines educational goals, objectives, and methodologies to meet program goals

  • Oversees educational activities, to meet the requirements of the donor and the project’s targets
  • Monitors the activities and the results achieved against the project indicators, in collaboration with Project Coordinator, Project Area Managers and MEAL Manager
  • Participates in educational working groups, meetings with donor and other stakeholders
  • Participates in the development and/or revision of the project proposal; prepares reports and papers as appropriate
  • Participates in the development of educational materials, training manuals, newsletters, etc., as appropriate to the project
  • Performing any other tasks related to the implementation of the educational aspect of project as requested by the Project Coordinator or the Project Managers

Qualifications

  • University degree (preferably Master’s or PhD) from an accredited academic institution in Education, with a specialization in refugee education.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in relevant position.
  • Previous experience in working with migrant/refugee population.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in Greek and English.
  • Knowledge of academic and/or vocational education curricula.
  • Program planning and implementation skills.
  • Knowledge of the educational environment in Greece. Institutional donors’ regulations and requirements will be appreciated.
  • Proficient with MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word business software.

Job Overview

The Social worker is responsible for the provision of quality and comprehensive social services to vulnerable individuals within the Athens Solidarity Centre.

Responsibilities

Service Provision

  • Provide a comprehensive package of social services to ASC beneficiaries (in person and remotely)
  • Provide case management for child protection and SGBV cases and liaise with competent authorities and professionals as required.
  • Preparation of relevant documentation to support asylum and other processes as required by each beneficiary.
  • Identify vulnerabilities and facilitate their access to available aid, with particular attention to different vulnerabilities of men, women, boys, and girls.
  • Close collaboration with other ASC services to respond to holistic needs of each individual.
  • External referrals and access facilitation for (amongst others) welfare and medical services.
  • Accompaniment for particularly vulnerable cases (children, pregnancies etc.).

Other Tasks

  • Preparation of internal reports and collection and uploading of information in ASC database.
  • Ensure smooth cooperation and collaboration with other services, both within SolidarityNow and with other organisations.
  • Support outreach efforts and the establishment of partnerships with other actors.
  • Represent ASC and SN in relevant working groups, national and international fora.

 

 

Qualifications

  • University degree (preferably Master’s) from an accredited academic institution, in Social Workers Degree, as well as Social Worker Permission of Work.
  • Extended experience in similar position, supporting vulnerable groups.

The Programmes Department

Generic responsibilities

  • Provides Greek language classes for adult beneficiaries of the HELIOS programme.
  • Collaborates with other educators and contributes to the creation of educational materials related to the integration of beneficiaries.
  • Creates materials for classes (lesson plans) and monitors the progress of students.
  • Oversees distribution of teaching and learning materials according to the beneficiaries’ needs.
  • Ensures on-going monitoring, tracking and reporting of classes.
  • Develops and maintains effective filing systems, both electronic and hardcopy.
  • Supports soft skills education and implementation of outdoor activities linked to the curriculum of the programme.
  • Prepares the project beneficiaries for the Greek language examinations targeted at the certification of different levels of proficiency in the use of the Greek language.
  • Participate in meetings with other educators, partners and staff.

Qualifications

  • Excellent Greek and English
  • Degree – Bachelor degree in primary education or Greek philology
  • Certification of the teaching qualification of Trainers for Adults in non-formal education (attributed by National Organization for the Certification of Qualifications & Vocational Guidance)
  • Proven knowledge of training, curriculum development and implementation
  • Experience in report writing and excellent computer skills
  • Experience teaching Greek as a second or foreign language will be an advantage
  • Master’s degree in teaching Greek as a second or foreign language or Intercultural Education or any other relevant field will be an advantage
  • Experience in training of trainers/facilitators skills will be an advantage

Job Overview

The post holders are responsible for the successful implementation of all teaching activities for the target group population, in each camp of responsibility. Under the guidance of the Senior Educational Teachers and the Project Area Manager, they will perform vigorous follow-up and get directly involved in the implementation of different educational activities related to the beneficiaries of SolidarityNow, upon Maths & Science.

Generic responsibilities

  • Provide homework support for the children who attend formal education.
  • Implement after-school educational activities and classes, per the refugee population needs on subjects such as Mathematics & Science.
  • Expand and build on the existing educational curriculum, targeting and addressing the needs of different age groups of children and teenagers.
  • Oversee distributions of teaching and learning material according to the population’s needs.
  • Update and maintain effective workplans.
  • Ensure on-going monitoring, tracking, and reporting of classes.
  • Develop and maintain effective filing systems, both electronic and hardcopy.
  • Support educational, recreational and various activities.
  • Contribute to the identification of vulnerabilities and facilitate access to available aid.
  • Engage with parents, schools and communities in order to improve attendance and address students’ needs.

Qualifications

  • Degree – Bachelor degree in desired educational studies
  • Excellent Greek and English language
  • Proven knowledge of training, curriculum development, implementation and/or educational administration
  • At least 1 year of professional experience in educational programs for refugees or rural communities
  • Experience in teaching
  • Experience in engaging with parents and communities in order to improve attendance and address students’ needs
  • Experience in report writing and excellent computer skills
  • Experience in training of trainers/facilitators skills will be an advantage
