Job Description: The Communications Officer will be responsible for producing and communicating the organization’s internal and external messages as directed by the Communications Manager and in accordance with SN’s communication strategy. She/He will produce and publicize content (traditional and digital) while develop and implement a strong media and social media presence to meet the growing operational and communicational needs of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the implementation of the SolidarityNow communication strategy
- Contributing to Communications activities and Plan of Action developed per program (deliverables, reporting)
- Writing Press Releases regarding the organization’s news, accomplishments, and initiatives.
- Support the writing and production of all SN online and offline publications (including design and printing), such as: e-Newsletter, Annual Activity Report, leaflets, project brochures etc.)
- Support the production of audiovisual materials for communications purposes
- Support media relations (pitching, enquiries, liaising with colleagues and key spokespersons)
- Support with the organization of events – including setting up, planning, invitations, procurement of items and the operation on the day.
- Update content and improve functionality of SN’s website and social media
- Support the overall communications plan with new ideas and proposals
- Developing press stories related to SN projects/grants aiming to maximizing opportunities for positive publicity
- Contributing to the updating of the website/social media information operational-wise (promotion of SN projects)
- Contributing to reporting preparation (publicity report, press clipping report, annual report and statistics, reports to donors etc)
- Carry out other general communications tasks that may arise in the Communications Team (translations, meetings, awareness campaigns, special events, conferences etc.)
