Job Overview
The job holder is expected to play a crucial role in fostering effective communication strategies and managing partnerships for the Athens Solidarity Centre and SolidarityNow. This role requires exceptional communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities and Duties
- Implement Communication Strategies: Implement comprehensive communication strategies to enhance the organization’s visibility and reputation. This includes creating content for various channels such as social media, website, newsletters, and press releases.
- Media Relations: Cultivate relationships with media outlets and journalists to secure coverage for the organization under the supervision of Communications Manager. Coordinate interviews and press conferences.
- External Communications: Draft and disseminate external communications such as press releases, statements, and announcements under the supervision of Communications Manager. Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all communication channels.
- Partnership Management: Identify and cultivate partnerships with the Ministry of Migration and Asylum other civil society organizations, private sector, and other stakeholders that align with the organization’s goals and mission under the supervision of General Manager. Develop partnership proposals and negotiate terms of collaboration.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders including donors, state actors, beneficiaries, and community members to maintain positive relationships and support organizational objectives. Act as a liaison between the organization and external stakeholders.
- Event Coordination: Plan and execute events such as fundraisers, conferences, and community outreach programs under the supervision of Communications Manager.
- Coordinate logistics, manage vendors, and ensure events align with the organization’s goals and messaging.
- Evaluation and Reporting: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and partnerships. Provide regular reports on key performance indicators and make recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
- Proven experience in communications, public relations, or partnership management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement effective communication strategies.
- Experience in media relations and crisis communication is a plus.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools and social media platforms.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas for communication and partnership initiatives.
