Empowering Unemployed Youth for the Labor Market
SkillUp was initiated in the beginning of 2025 and aims to empower and support young people (17+) living in socially excluded conditions, for example, ex-prisoners, migrants, refugees, Roma, etc. SolidarityNow will support young people through vocational guidance activities, as well as skills development, with the goal of integrating them into the labor market.
The program aims to address the issue of youth unemployment, in particular NEETs (Not in Education Employment Training), i.e. young people who are neither in employment nor in education or training.
Specifically, in terms of NEETs (15 to 24 years old), in 2022, Greece is in the uncomfortable first place with 11.7%, with the average of EU countries at 9.4%.
*SkillUp is implemented in Thessaloniki with the support of John S.Latsis Public Benefit Foundation.
