The project \u201c<strong>Increased opportunities for integration and social inclusion for vulnerable individuals\u201d by Athens Solidarity Centre (ASC)<\/strong> is being implemented under the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/eeagrants.org\/topics-programmes\/social-inclusion-youth-employment-and-poverty-reduction\/local-development-and\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Local Development and Poverty Reduction<\/a>\u201d programme.<\/p>\n<p>This grant reinforces the operation of all the Center\u2019s services, which are provided free of charge. <strong>An estimated 10,000 individuals will receive direct assistance throughout the programme. <\/strong>The Centre provides a complementary package of comprehensive services, namely, a) social services, b) psychological support, c) legal aid, d) accounting, e) employability services, and e) a Day Care Center for Children, operated by the \u201cNetwork for Children\u2019s Rights\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-10178 aligncenter colorbox-10164\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/3-300x50.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"50\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/3-300x50.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/3.jpg 493w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The work implemented by the Athens Solidarity Center and its accomplishments are presented through human stories, infographics, audiovisual material, articles, press releases and via dedicated posts on its Facebook page. The three donor countries cooperate closely with the EU through the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA). The donors have provided \u20ac3.3 billion through consecutive grant schemes between 1994 and 2014. For the period 2014-2021, the EEA Grants amount to \u20ac1.55 billion. The priorities for this period are: 1) Innovation, Research, Education and Competitiveness, 2) Social Inclusion, Youth Employment and Poverty Reduction, 3) Environment, Energy, Climate Change and Low Carbon Economy, 4) Culture, Civil Society, Good Governance and Fundamental Rights, 5) Justice and Home Affairs.<\/p>\n<p>The EEA Grants are jointly financed by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, whose contributions are based on their GDP.
