{"id":10170,"date":"2021-03-22T08:55:54","date_gmt":"2021-03-22T08:55:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/?p=10170"},"modified":"2021-03-22T08:55:54","modified_gmt":"2021-03-22T08:55:54","slug":"english-interpreter-farsi-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/en\/english-interpreter-farsi-2\/","title":{"rendered":"[:en]INTERPRETER (FARSI)[:]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Place:\u00a0<strong>Blue Refugee Center, Thessaloniki<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Starting Date:<\/strong>\u00a0ASAP<\/p>\n<p><strong>Status:<\/strong>\u00a0Full Time<\/p>\n<p><strong>Child Safeguarding Policy: <\/strong>Level 3 \u2013 The job holder will have regular contact with children<\/p>\n<p><strong>Generic responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Duties &amp; Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provides clear and accurate interpretation services, during individual sessions with the beneficiaries of the center (e.g. for psychosocial services, legal cases, employability counselling);<\/li>\n<li>Provides clear and accurate interpretation services, during informative sessions, briefings, trainings etc;<\/li>\n<li>Provides written translation of documents to English or Greek;<\/li>\n<li>In coordination with other team colleagues, participates in field-trips and other external activities;<\/li>\n<li>Accompanies beneficiaries -when necessary- to public services, medical appointments or hospitals;<\/li>\n<li>In coordination with other team colleagues, ensures that all beneficiaries feel comfortable and safe to share their concerns freely;<\/li>\n<li>Respects the code of conduct of the organization, with emphasis on confidentiality;<\/li>\n<li>Welcomes beneficiaries in a professional and friendly way;<\/li>\n<li>Provides interpretation services through phone calls or remotely, when needed;<\/li>\n<li>Performs other position-related duties as assigned by the respective Team Leader;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent command of <strong>Farsi <\/strong>and\/or <strong>Dari<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>Excellent command of Greek and\/or English language;<\/li>\n<li>Minimum one-year professional experience as an interpreter or cultural mediator;<\/li>\n<li>Familiar with protection issues related to refugee population;<\/li>\n<li>High professional ethics;<\/li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal, communication, listening and observation skills, including ability to create trust, support and respect;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and working relations in multi-ethnic environment; Cross Culturally Aware and flexible;<\/li>\n<li>Strong team player;<\/li>\n<li>Well organized and efficient, flexible, able to handle pressure well and adapt in different working environments;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desired<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Previous working experience with local or international NGOs will be considered an asset<\/li>\n<li>Field Working Experience in Camps\/Temporary Settlements of refugee\/migrant population<\/li>\n<li>Computer literacy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are interested in applying, please send your CV and motivation letter to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:thes-recruitment@solidaritynow.org\">thes-recruitment@solidaritynow.org<\/a>\u00a0mentioning in the email subject\u00a0<strong>\u201cInterpreter Farsi_BRC\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><em>SN is an equal opportunity employer.
