{"id":10815,"date":"2021-09-22T07:31:53","date_gmt":"2021-09-22T07:31:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/?p=10815"},"modified":"2021-09-22T07:31:53","modified_gmt":"2021-09-22T07:31:53","slug":"teacher-science","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/en\/teacher-science\/","title":{"rendered":"TEACHER (SCIENCE)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Starting Date:<\/strong>\u00a0ASAP<\/p>\n<p><strong>Status:<\/strong>\u00a0 Full Time<\/p>\n<p><strong>Child Safeguarding Policy: <\/strong>Level 3 \u2013 The job holder will have regular contact with children<\/p>\n<p><strong>Generic responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide after-school\u00a0<strong> Science<\/strong>\u00a0classes according to refugee and migrant population needs<\/li>\n<li>Expand and build on the existing educational curriculum, targeting and addressing the needs of different age groups of children and youth<\/li>\n<li>Provide homework support for the children who attend formal education<\/li>\n<li>Oversee distributions of teaching and learning material according to the population\u2019s needs<\/li>\n<li>Update and maintain effective workplans<\/li>\n<li>Ensure on-going monitoring, tracking and reporting of classes<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain effective filing systems, both electronic and hardcopy<\/li>\n<li>Support education, recreational and various activities<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the identification of vulnerabilities and facilitate access to available aid<\/li>\n<li>Engage with parents, schools and communities in order to improve attendance and address students\u2019 needs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree \u2013 Bachelor\u2019s degree in Science (eg Physics, Chemistry or any other relevant field)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Excellent Greek\u00a0<\/strong>and preferably English<\/li>\n<li>At least 1 year of professional experience in educational programs for refugees or rural\/vulnerable communities<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical and administrative skills in the management of educational programs and mainly primary education<\/li>\n<li>Excellent Computer skills<\/li>\n<li>Driving License (<strong>B\u2019<\/strong> category)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desired<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Masters or Bachelor\u2019s degree in Intercultural Education will be an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Experience teaching non-native speakers<\/li>\n<li>Proven knowledge of training, curriculum development, implementation and educational administration<\/li>\n<li>Experience in training of trainers\/facilitators skills<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of report writing<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Arabic or Farsi will be an advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are interested in applying, please send your CV and motivation letter to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:recruitment@solidaritynow.org\">recruitment@solidaritynow.org<\/a>\u00a0mentioning in the email subject\u00a0<strong>\u201cScience teacher_Athens)\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><em>SN is an equal opportunity employer.
