The DoP is a key member of SolidarityNow\u2019s Senior Management Team and directly supervises all staff (Project Coordinators, Project Managers, M&amp;E Manager) in the Programmes Department.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities and Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Overall management and coordination of programmes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee all projects throughout duration of project cycle, to ensure quality of implementation, impact, and identify areas for improvement.<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with donors for the implementation to overcome any challenges relating to current projects, ensure quality of implementation and continuation of activities.<\/li>\n<li>In collaboration with Project Coordinators, ensure that project implementation is timely, on target, and on budget, overcoming challenges identified during the process.<\/li>\n<li>Provide technical support to the implementation teams and ensure that implementation is standardised across teams and geographical locations.<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with other SN Departments to ensure successful project implementation.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct frequent visits to programme sites to support the field teams.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reporting and Monitoring <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee reporting process for all programmes according to internal and donor requirements, ensuring strict compliance with deadlines and quality of information.<\/li>\n<li>In collaboration with M&amp;E Manager ensure the collection of quality data and the development of necessary tools for data collection and monitoring.<\/li>\n<li>Carry out regular assessments of programmes to improve their impact.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the operation of the organisation\u2019s Complaints and Feedback Mechanism.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Programme Development<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead the development of quality project proposals and concept notes (including budgets, and log-frames), in collaboration with thematic experts, to support fundraising efforts.<\/li>\n<li>Identify and review funding opportunities from institutional donors (EU, UN agencies, Greek state) and foundations (national and international) for new programmes.<\/li>\n<li>Develop partnerships at national and international levels, with relevant stakeholders, for the development of new programmes and to support organisational sustainability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Programmatic and Organisational Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead the reflection, definition and follow-up of the organisation\u2019s programmatic strategy including annual implementation plans.<\/li>\n<li>Promote information exchange and synergies between departments, monitor compliance with the internal rules and procedures, assess and mitigate risks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Staff Management and Development<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Directly supervise Programmes Department staff.<\/li>\n<li>Provide technical support and oversight to all senior programme staff and lead the establishment and functioning of strong and coordinated implementation teams.<\/li>\n<li>Provide guidance in the selection, recruitment, and training of programme staff.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Representation<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Represents the organisation nationally and internationally in relevant fora including working groups, conferences and other meetings.<\/li>\n<li>Represent the organisation in donor and government meetings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Job Requirements \/\u00a0Skills Required<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum 5 years of senior management experience in a humanitarian\/ development context, including significant field experience.<\/li>\n<li>Master\u2019s degree in relevant field (i.e., humanities, social sciences, legal) or equivalent experience<\/li>\n<li>Sound knowledge of NGO humanitarian\/development context at a national and EU level<\/li>\n<li>Project management skills including design, implementation, and assessment<\/li>\n<li>Good knowledge of Greek and international humanitarian systems, institutions, donors, procedures and accountability frameworks and best practices in emergency management<\/li>\n<li>Substantial experience and knowledge of effective financial and budgetary control and securing and managing grants from major institutional donors<\/li>\n<li>Highly reliable, able to consistently meet tight deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Proven leadership and interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Creative and strategic mind with the ability to multitask<\/li>\n<li>Excellent writing and communications skills<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in Greek and English<\/li>\n<li>Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and CRM databases<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>If you are interested in applying, please send your CV and motivation letter to <a href=\"mailto:recruitment@solidaritynow.org\">recruitment@solidaritynow.org<\/a> mentioning in the email subject \u201cDirector of Programmes\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>SN is an equal opportunity employer.
