The Director of Finance is a member of the Executive Management Team which guides the daily operation of the organisation and reports to the General Manager.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Responsibilities<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensuring financial procedures and internal controls are in place and abided by, across the organisation.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and specific donor requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Guiding all organisational decisions to manage financial risk.<\/li>\n<li>Establishing and maintaining relationship with\u00a0banks, authorities, and donors.<\/li>\n<li>Safeguarding liquidity and monitoring\u00a0cash flows.<\/li>\n<li>Developing and managing organisational and programmatic budgets.<\/li>\n<li>Overseeing and approving payments\u00a0including salaries, tax, social security, rents, and vendors, ensuring value for money.<\/li>\n<li>Acting as main point of contact for all aspects relating to organisational finances to internal and external stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Safeguarding and managing\u00a0organisational assets.<\/li>\n<li>Overseeing the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial\u00a0reporting\u00a0in line with donor requirements and the publication of annual accounts.<\/li>\n<li>Supervising and managing 5-member Finance team, providing technical advice, capacity building and evaluating the progress of employees.<\/li>\n<li>Overseeing operations and management of the HR team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong><u>Requirements<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>University Degree in Finance and\/or Accounting (Master\u2019s degree or Professional Certifications in Accounting highly desirable).<\/li>\n<li>Solid work experience in financial management with experience of 10 years or more.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent knowledge of Greek Tax and Accounting Policies and Standards and associated regulatory issues and trends.<\/li>\n<li>Thorough knowledge and experience in double entry bookkeeping.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent understanding and knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).<\/li>\n<li>Experience of European Programs and donor reporting an advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Work experience at an NGO would be an advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with Human Resources Management would be an advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent knowledge of Accounting Software packages (knowledge of Navision an asset).<\/li>\n<li>Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office.<\/li>\n<li>Good analytical and organizational skills and solid management experience.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work well under pressure and excellent strategic planning skills.<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in Greek and English (written and oral).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Skills<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and strong organizational skills while prioritizing<\/li>\n<li>Able to perform under pressure and deliver results<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication and teamwork skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to challenge processes and implement improved working methods<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are interested in applying, please send your CV and motivation letter to <a href=\"mailto:recruitment@solidaritynow.org\">recruitment@solidaritynow.org <\/a>mentioning in the email subject \u201c<strong>Director of Finance_ Athens<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><em>SN is an equal opportunity employer.
