{"id":13144,"date":"2023-03-23T08:55:42","date_gmt":"2023-03-23T08:55:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/?p=13144"},"modified":"2023-03-23T08:55:42","modified_gmt":"2023-03-23T08:55:42","slug":"interpreter-arabic-7","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/en\/interpreter-arabic-7\/","title":{"rendered":"INTERPRETER ARABIC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Starting Date<\/strong>: ASAP<\/p>\n<p><strong>Status:<\/strong>\u00a0 Part Time<\/p>\n<p><strong>Child Safeguarding Policy:\u00a0<\/strong>Level 1 \u2013 The job holder does not have regular contact with children.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Duties &amp; Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provides clear and accurate interpretation services, during individual sessions with the beneficiaries (e.g. for employability counselling);<\/li>\n<li>Provides clear and accurate interpretation services, during informative sessions, briefings, trainings etc;<\/li>\n<li>Provides written translation of documents to Arabic<\/li>\n<li>In coordination with other team colleagues, participates in fieldtrips and other external activities when required.<\/li>\n<li>Accompanies beneficiaries -when necessary- to public services.<\/li>\n<li>In coordination with other team colleagues, ensures that all beneficiaries feel comfortable and safe to share their concerns freely.<\/li>\n<li>Respects the code of conduct of the organization, with emphasis on confidentiality.<\/li>\n<li>Welcomes beneficiaries in a professional and friendly way.<\/li>\n<li>Provides interpretation services through phone calls or remotely, when needed.<\/li>\n<li>Performs other position-related duties as assigned by the respective Project Coordinator.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required qualifications and skills<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent command of <strong>Arabic<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Excellent command of Greek and\/or English language;<\/li>\n<li>Minimum one-year professional experience as an interpreter or cultural mediator;<\/li>\n<li>Familiar with protection issues related to refugee population;<\/li>\n<li>High professional ethics;<\/li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal, communication, listening and observation skills, including ability to create trust, support and respect;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and working relations in multi-ethnic environment; Cross Culturally Aware and flexible;<\/li>\n<li>Strong team player;<\/li>\n<li>Well organized and efficient, flexible, able to handle pressure well and adapt in different working environments;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desired<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Previous working experience with local or international NGOs will be considered an asset<\/li>\n<li>Field Working Experience in Camps\/Temporary Settlements of refugee\/migrant population<\/li>\n<li>Computer literacy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are interested in applying, please send your CV and motivation letter to:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"mailto:thes-recruitment@solidaritynow.org\">thes-recruitment@solidaritynow.org<\/a> mentioning in the email subject\u00a0<strong>\u201cPart-Time Arabic Interpreter_ Thessaloniki\u2019\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>SN is an equal opportunity employer.
