{"id":13670,"date":"2023-08-09T12:18:57","date_gmt":"2023-08-09T12:18:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/?p=13670"},"modified":"2023-08-09T12:18:57","modified_gmt":"2023-08-09T12:18:57","slug":"senior-teacher-athens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/en\/senior-teacher-athens\/","title":{"rendered":"SENIOR TEACHER &#8211; ATHENS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Starting Date:<\/strong>\u00a001\/09\/2023<\/p>\n<p><strong>Status:<\/strong>\u00a0 Full Time<\/p>\n<p><strong>Child Safeguarding Policy: <\/strong>Level 3 \u2013 The job holder will have regular contact with children<\/p>\n<p><strong>Generic responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate the services offered under the program\u2019s scope, supervise and guide effectively the educational and psychosocial team<\/li>\n<li>Implement after-school educational activities, per the refugee\/migrant population needs on the subject of Greek Language and homework support<\/li>\n<li>Establish effective communication and collaboration with educational and other stakeholders (Refugee Education Coordinators, schools, other organizations etc.), participate actively in meetings and best practices exchange to promote refugee\/migrant children\u2019s integration in the formal education setting<\/li>\n<li>Link existing services within the organization to support children and families\u2019 best interest<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the identification of vulnerabilities, facilitate access to available aid, support the referral process<\/li>\n<li>Expand and build on the existing educational curriculum that targets and addresses the needs of different age groups of teenagers and children<\/li>\n<li>Ensure on-going monitoring, tracking and reporting of the project, develop and maintain effective filing systems, both electronic and hardcopy in Greek and English language<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent Greek and English, both written and verbal<\/li>\n<li>Degree \u2013 Bachelor degree in education (any subject) <strong>or<\/strong> Greek Philology<\/li>\n<li>Proven knowledge of training, curriculum development, implementation and educational administration<\/li>\n<li>Proven academic or on-job training and understanding of the Project Cycle model in managing humanitarian assistance<\/li>\n<li>At least 3 years of professional experience in educational programs for refugees\/migrants or rural communities<\/li>\n<li>Experience engaging with parents and communities in order to improve attendance and address students\u2019 needs<\/li>\n<li>Experience gained within an international humanitarian NGO will be an added advantage<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical and administrative skills in the management of educational programs and mainly primary education<\/li>\n<li>Experience in report writing and excellent computer skills<\/li>\n<li>Experience in training of trainers\/facilitators skills will be an advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desired<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Masters or Bachelor\u2019s degree in Intercultural Education will be an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Proven knowledge of training, curriculum development, implementation and educational administration<\/li>\n<li>Experience in training of trainers\/facilitators skills<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of report writing<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Arabic or Farsi will be an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Teachers who can teach both Greek and English are highly desirable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are interested in applying, please send your CV and motivation letter to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:thes-recruitment@solidaritynow.org\">recruitment@solidaritynow.org<\/a>\u00a0mentioning in the email subject\u00a0<strong>\u201cSenior Teacher_Athens\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>SN is an equal opportunity employer.
