The 19-year-old F and G are friends, asylum seekers and come from Egypt.<\/strong> Until 2022, they lived in a shelter for unaccompanied minors. As part of the collaboration of the SolidarityNow Employment Service with the shelter, the service\u2019s team organized professional orientation sessions for the minors to participate<\/strong> in order to get prepared for their integration into the labor market. Among the minors that took part in the sessions were F and G, who both speak only Arabic, thus the sessions with the experts were held with the assistance of an interpreter.<\/p>\n In their first sessions both mentioned that they were interested in any work available to avoid going to a camp, following their turning to 18. However, during the sessions, their interests became clearer.<\/strong><\/p>\n F showed an interest in tourism professions while G, due to his previous experience, in the construction industry. Therefore, in their individual plans designed, emphasis was given on the ways of finding work in the subjects of their interests, informing them about labor rights and their obligations towards employers.<\/p>\n At the same time, it was underlined how important it is to learn the Greek language<\/strong> and attend training programs. F and G were motivated and mobilized. They actively participated in the counseling sessions and additionally, at the prompting of the employment counselor, they participated in job fairs and career days to gain experience.<\/p>\n Their actions along with the consultation process were fruitful!
