{"id":16146,"date":"2025-03-18T09:42:38","date_gmt":"2025-03-18T09:42:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/?p=16146"},"modified":"2025-03-18T09:43:10","modified_gmt":"2025-03-18T09:43:10","slug":"maths-science-teacher","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/en\/maths-science-teacher\/","title":{"rendered":"MATHS &#038; SCHIENCE TEACHER"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Starting Date: ASAP<\/p>\n<p>Status: Part Time\/Fixed term<\/p>\n<p>Child Safeguarding Policy: Level 3 \u2013 The job holder will have regular contact with children.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Job Overview<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The postholder is responsible for the successful implementation of all teaching activities of the programme.\u00a0 Under the guidance of the Senior Teacher, she\/he will get directly involved in the implementation of different educational activities related to the children beneficiaries of the project, upon Mathematics and Science.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Responsibilities<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Implement after-school educational activities on the subjects of Mathematics &amp; Science, based on the refugee population needs.<\/li>\n<li>Expand and build on the existing educational curriculum, targeting and addressing the needs of different age groups of children and youth<\/li>\n<li>Provide homework support for the children who attend formal education<\/li>\n<li>Oversee distributions of teaching and learning material according to the population\u2019s needs<\/li>\n<li>Update and maintain effective workplans<\/li>\n<li>Ensure on-going monitoring, tracking and reporting of classes<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain effective filing systems, both electronic and hardcopy<\/li>\n<li>Support education, recreational and various activities<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the identification of vulnerabilities and facilitate access to available aid<\/li>\n<li>Engage with parents, schools and communities in order to improve attendance and address students\u2019 needs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Qualifications<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent Greek and English<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Mathematics, or Physics\/Chemistry\/Biology<\/li>\n<li>At least 1 year of professional experience in educational programs for refugees or rural\/vulnerable communities<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical and administrative skills in the management of educational programs and mainly primary education<\/li>\n<li>Excellent Computer skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desired<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Master\u2019s or bachelor\u2019s degree in Intercultural Education will be an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Teaching experience for non-native speakers<\/li>\n<li>Proven knowledge of training, curriculum development, implementation and educational administration<\/li>\n<li>Experience in training trainers\/facilitators skills<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of report writing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are interested in applying, please send your CV and motivation letter to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:recruitment@solidaritynow.org\">recruitment@solidaritynow.org<\/a>\u00a0mentioning in the email subject\u00a0<strong>\u201cMATHS &amp; SCIENCE TEACHER_ Athens\u201d.<\/strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>SN is an equal opportunity employer.
