They travelled all these distances to come to the Center in order, as they told us, \u201cto find a job.\u201d It soon became clear that they had no information about what looking for work in Greece actually involves, what is required, and how to take the first steps.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"605\" data-end=\"655\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Their stories are different, yet equally powerful:<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"657\" data-end=\"1113\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">One participant with a university degree and some professional experience, seeking opportunities to build on what she has already achieved.<\/span><br data-start=\"799\" data-end=\"802\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A woman facing significant communication barriers, without even a personal phone, who is taking her first steps toward accessing information.<\/span><br data-start=\"946\" data-end=\"949\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A young mother, recently recognized as a refugee, who must urgently leave the temporary accommodation facility (camp), with no provision for specialized support.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1115\" data-end=\"1256\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Each of them brings determination, skills, resilience, and a strong desire to learn\u2014qualities that were evident throughout the group session.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1258\" data-end=\"1389\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">For us, these meetings reaffirm the importance of support, timely information, and access to services that everyone is entitled to.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1391\" data-end=\"1494\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">With gratitude for their trust and a commitment to continue standing by their side, one step at a time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1496\" data-end=\"1576\"><em data-start=\"1496\" data-end=\"1576\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">*<\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The \u201cLivelihoods Unlocked\u201d project is supported by the<\/span>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.loreal.com\/en\/news\/commitments\/loreal-fund-for-women\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">L\u2019Or\u00e9al Fund for Women<\/a>.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At the Thessaloniki Solidarity Center, we recently met a group of eight young women from Sudan who are living in temporary accommodation facilities in Lagkadikia, Polykastro, Vagiochori, and Drama.
