{"id":17585,"date":"2026-03-23T09:07:59","date_gmt":"2026-03-23T09:07:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/?p=17585"},"modified":"2026-03-23T09:07:59","modified_gmt":"2026-03-23T09:07:59","slug":"accountant-asc-athens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/en\/accountant-asc-athens\/","title":{"rendered":"ACCOUNTANT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Starting Date: ASAP<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Status: Full Time\/Fixed Term<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Child Safeguarding Policy: Level 3 \u2013 The job holder will have regular contact with children.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Reports To: <\/strong>ASC Coordinator<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><u>Job Overview<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Accountant will provide comprehensive accountancy support and guidance to vulnerable individuals, including refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants, at the Athens Solidarity Centre (ASC), to facilitate their access to tax, welfare, and social services.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><u>Responsibilities<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Accountancy Support and Guidance <\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Conduct Sessions with beneficiaries requiring advice and support on basic accountancy issues.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Guide beneficiaries in issuing tax-related documents and registering Taxation Identification Numbers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Mediate with relevant public authorities (in exceptional cases).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Provide information and guidance to facilitate access to welfare benefits and other entitlements.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Support beneficiaries in completing tax declarations.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Database and Case Information Management<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Record and update information in the ASC database accurately and in a timely manner.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Provide relevant information to other SolidarityNow (SN) staff regarding accountancy and welfare procedures.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Inform senior management about contextual challenges and emerging issues requiring advocacy or policy interventions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Collaborate with team members to inform communication and awareness-raising initiatives.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Carry out other relevant tasks as required.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><u>Qualifications:<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><u>Essential <\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Degree in Accountancy or a minimum of 2 years of experience in an accountancy office.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Familiarity with taxation and welfare benefit issues for vulnerable groups .<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Strong cross-cultural awareness and flexibility.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Excellent computer literacy and numeracy skills.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Highly organized, efficient and detail-oriented.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Strong team spirit and collaborative attitude<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Fluent in Greek and English (written and spoken).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If you are interested in applying, please send your CV and motivation letter to<\/span>\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:recruitment@solidaritynow.org\">recruitment@solidaritynow.org<\/a> \u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000;\">mentioning in the email subject\u00a0<strong>\u201cASC Accountant_ Athens\u201d.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>SN is an equal opportunity employer.
