{"id":1812,"date":"2017-03-06T08:20:31","date_gmt":"2017-03-06T08:20:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/?p=1812"},"modified":"2017-03-06T08:20:31","modified_gmt":"2017-03-06T08:20:31","slug":"protection-officer-2-positions-1-social-1-legal-coordinates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/en\/protection-officer-2-positions-1-social-1-legal-coordinates\/","title":{"rendered":"Protection Officer (2 positions, 1 social 1 legal) coordinates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Position: Protection Officer <\/strong>(2 positions, 1 social 1 legal) coordinates<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location<\/strong>: Ioannina<\/p>\n<p><strong>Starting Date<\/strong>: ASAP<\/p>\n<p><strong>Status:<\/strong>\u00a0 Full Time<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job purpose:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Protection Officer (2 positions, 1 social 1 legal) coordinates with Team Coordinator and HQ for program implementation with the objective of providing timely and effective protection to populations of concern.<\/p>\n<p>Main Duties &amp; Responsibilities<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Conduct mapping of population under supervision of senior protection officer<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with competent authorities to ensure the issuance of personal and other relevant documents to persons of concern (civil documentation)<\/li>\n<li>Manage or refers to individual protection cases to Senior protection officer<\/li>\n<li>Develop a response protection plan (social plan\/ legal plan)<\/li>\n<li>Identify protection gaps and interventions and refers to respective reporting line accordingly<\/li>\n<li>Implements Protection Strategy under the supervision of Senior Protection Officer<\/li>\n<li>Ensure systematic application of and adherence to all quality standards and protection policies\u00a0under the supervision of Senior Protection Officer<\/li>\n<li>Social<\/li>\n<li>Conduct needs assessment of PoC under supervision of senior protection officer<\/li>\n<li>Screen protection related cases under supervision of senior protection officer<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and report incidents and issues related to the culturally sensitive placement\/cohabitation of hosted population to the Senior protection officer<\/li>\n<li>Promote confidence building and conflict resolution among populations of concern, authorities, and host communities.<\/li>\n<li>Support persons of concern to facilitate community based approaches to protection in humanitarian work<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Legal<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Provide legal advice and guidance on protection issues to persons of concern in close cooperation with senior protection officer<\/li>\n<li>Ensure legal assistance is accessible to persons of concern;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Essential:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Field of education:\u00a0Bachelor and\/or Masters Degree in Law, International Law, Political Sciences, or related field \u2022 Good knowledge of International Refugee and Human Rights Law<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Adaptation to specific working conditions<\/li>\n<li>Capacity to work under high pressure<\/li>\n<li>Strong cross-cultural communication and resilience skills are very important<\/li>\n<li>Able to work in harsh, unstable and difficult conditions, independently and in a team<\/li>\n<li>Able to establish and maintain effective working relations with people of different cultural backgrounds<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to show initiative and take responsibility<\/li>\n<li>Excellent oral and written communication skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Proficient with Microsoft Office Programmes<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in English<\/li>\n<li>Arabic\/ Farsi is desirable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Experience required:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least two years in protection related position<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are interested in applying, please send your CV and motivation letter to <a href=\"mailto:recruitment@solidaritynow.org\">recruitment@solidaritynow.org<\/a> mentioning in the <strong>email subject<\/strong> \u201cSN <strong>Protection Officer_Ioannina<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>SN is an equal opportunity employer.
