To organize and co-ordinate proactively SN events and stimulate participation in communications initiatives in the wider region of N. Greece.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Main Responsibilities:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Increase awareness of SN within media and various stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Develop relationships with key-media and build a strong database of Press\/Media contacts.<\/li>\n<li>Build a database of Communications officers in leading NGOs and relevant organisations.<\/li>\n<li>Identify opportunities, in conjunction with Communications team, to increase SN\u2019s brand profile and mandate as an influential voice and actor on humanitarian issues.<\/li>\n<li>Write Press Releases and press statements based on operational needs.<\/li>\n<li>Organize press briefings and press conferences.<\/li>\n<li>Write strong human stories highlighting the impact of programs for both SN digital communications and media.<\/li>\n<li>Organise campaign events and stunts.<\/li>\n<li>Produce a range of digital content for SN campaigns and external communications.<\/li>\n<li>Innovate to ensure SN\u2019s tactics are effective, cutting edge and respond to external trends and lessons.<\/li>\n<li>Create social media posts with engaging content which tie in with programs\u2019 goals.<\/li>\n<li>Manage social media group, promoting specific projects in northern Greece.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate creative, innovative approaches to communications initiatives that will influence key targets.<\/li>\n<li>Help increase SN staff knowledge and skills on relevant media\/ communications issues<\/li>\n<li>Support the co-ordination of cross-team and cross-departmental project groups and help facilitate effective communication.<\/li>\n<li>Attend and contribute to departmental meetings, staff briefings and conferences.<\/li>\n<li>Represent SN externally as acting spokesperson and through networking.<\/li>\n<li>Protect SN\u2019s reputation, by ensuring implementing crisis management media strategies as required.<\/li>\n<li>Organize weekly and monthly work-plans of communication priorities and external opportunities.<\/li>\n<li>Undertake other tasks &amp; responsibilities that the Head of Communications deems necessary and appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>Produce reporting lists as above and inform accordingly the Manager.<\/li>\n<li>Filling and registering all actions to the reporting lists<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Relevant\u00a0 experience:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong verbal and written communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Proven success at pitching stories to the media and working with journalists<\/li>\n<li>Ability to write accurate and engaging editorial, blogs and press releases to a high standard<\/li>\n<li>Strong social media and digital content experience<\/li>\n<li>Experience of working with a range of people inside and outside own organisation to achieve communications objectives<\/li>\n<li>Experience of organising events, actions and initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Experience working in a cross-organisational team to deliver on projects\/ strategies<\/li>\n<li>Strong persuading and influencing skills, both internally and externally<\/li>\n<li>Ability to translate complicated ideas into clear messages in plain language<\/li>\n<li>Good negotiation, networking, inter-personal and facilitation skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to proactively identify and create opportunities to achieve communications objectives<\/li>\n<li>Public speaking skills<\/li>\n<li>Enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who can work well in a team<\/li>\n<li>Strong interest in current affairs and the humanitarian and international development sectors.<\/li>\n<li>Able to work to tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are interested in applying, please send your CV and motivation letter to recruitment@solidaritynow.org mentioning in the email subject \u201c<strong>SN Press and Event officer<\/strong>_ <strong>Thessaloniki<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>SN is an equal opportunity employer.
