{"id":3992,"date":"2017-09-29T09:04:36","date_gmt":"2017-09-29T09:04:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/?p=3992"},"modified":"2017-09-29T09:04:36","modified_gmt":"2017-09-29T09:04:36","slug":"legal-counsel-compliance-officer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/en\/legal-counsel-compliance-officer\/","title":{"rendered":"LEGAL COUNSEL AND COMPLIANCE OFFICER"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Position: LEGAL COUNSEL AND COMPLIANCE OFFICER <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Location<\/strong>: Athens (Nationwide Travel might be requested)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Starting Date<\/strong>: ASAP<\/p>\n<p><strong>Status:<\/strong>\u00a0 Full Time<\/p>\n<p>RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n<p>Include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Giving accurate and timely counsel to executives in a variety of legal topics<\/li>\n<li>Collaborating with management to devise efficient strategies<\/li>\n<li>Specifying internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance<\/li>\n<li>Facilitating the organization\u2019s compliance with other non-profit, programmatic and fundraising rules and regulations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Give accurate and timely counsel to executives in a variety of legal topics (labor law, corporate finance, programming etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with management to devise efficient strategies, programs, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Identify active and potential legal issues and suggest alternatives that lead to the best solution<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that organization conducts its non-profit activities in compliance with applicable laws and regulations<\/li>\n<li>Specify internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance<\/li>\n<li>Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions, operations and programs and provide continuing counsel and guidance on all legal matters<\/li>\n<li>Advice and participate in the preparation of implementation of a program<\/li>\n<li>Offer proactive advise on possible legal issues<\/li>\n<li>Communicate with external parties creating relations of trust<\/li>\n<li>Draft and solidify agreements (program and partner agreements, MOUs, vendor agreements), tenders, contracts (real estate leases, etc.) and other legal documents (grant\/donation documentation) to ensure the company\u2019s legal rights both domestically and internationally<\/li>\n<li>Deal with complex matters<\/li>\n<li>Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization<\/li>\n<li>Conduct the work with integrity and responsibility<\/li>\n<li>Maintain current knowledge of alterations in legislation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proven experience as a legal counsel in business environment (minimum 10 years\u2019 experience with a combination of law firm and in house counsel)<\/li>\n<li>Excellent knowledge of corporate law and procedures<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to create legal defensive and proactive strategies<\/li>\n<li>High degree of professional ethics and integrity<\/li>\n<li>Outstanding communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Degree in Law and Athens Bar Membership<\/li>\n<li>Different languages skills<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience working in or with an NGO or international organization highly desirable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are interested in applying, please send your CV and motivation letter to recruitment@solidaritynow.org mentioning in the email subject \u201c<strong>SN LEGAL COUNSEL AND COMPLIANCE OFFICER <\/strong>_ <strong>Athens<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>SN is an equal opportunity employer.
