{"id":4032,"date":"2017-10-11T13:43:32","date_gmt":"2017-10-11T13:43:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/?p=4032"},"modified":"2017-10-11T13:43:32","modified_gmt":"2017-10-11T13:43:32","slug":"educational-officer-mother-tongue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/en\/educational-officer-mother-tongue\/","title":{"rendered":"Educational Officer (Mother -Tongue)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Location<\/strong>: Thessaloniki, Drama, Thiva<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job title<\/strong>: Educational Officer (Mother -Tongue)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Starting Date<\/strong>: ASAP<\/p>\n<p><strong>Status<\/strong>: Full Time<\/p>\n<p><strong>Child Safeguarding Policy <\/strong><\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"104\"><strong>Level 3<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"449\">The job holder will have regular contact with children<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><strong>Generic responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Provide after-school <strong>Arabic or Farsi language classes<\/strong> according to refugee and migrant population needs<\/li>\n<li>Develop an educational curriculum targeting and addressing the needs of different age groups of teenagers and children<\/li>\n<li>Provide homework support for the children who attend formal education<\/li>\n<li>Oversee distributions of teaching and learning material according to the population\u2019s needs<\/li>\n<li>Update and maintain effective workplans<\/li>\n<li>Ensure on-going monitoring, tracking and reporting of classes<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain effective filing systems, both electronic and hardcopy<\/li>\n<li>Support education, recreational and various activities<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the identification of vulnerabilities and facilitate referrals to available support<\/li>\n<li>Engage with parents, schools and communities in order to improve attendance and respond to students\u2019 needs<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Essencial<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Excellent command of Arabic or Farsi<\/strong> and at least of one more language, either <strong>Greek or English<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Masters or Bachelor\u2019s degree in Education (any subject) or Arabic Language will be a strong asset<\/li>\n<li>Professional (or volunteer) experience in educational programs for refugees or rural\/vulnerable communities or experience teaching Arabic as a foreign language will be a strong asset<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical and administrative skills in the management of educational programs and mainly primary education<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desired<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proven knowledge of training, curriculum development, implementation and educational administration<\/li>\n<li>Experience in training of trainers\/facilitators skills<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of report writing<\/li>\n<li>Experience in report writing and excellent computer skills<\/li>\n<li>Experience in training of trainers\/facilitators skills will be an advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are interested in applying, please fill send your CV and motivation letter to <a href=\"mailto:recruitment@solidaritynow.org\">recruitment@solidaritynow.org<\/a> by <strong>Sunday, October 22, 2017<\/strong>, mentioning in the email subject <strong>\u201cSN Educational <\/strong><strong>Officer_ (Mother -Tongue<\/strong>)<strong>\u201d<\/strong> signifying your preferred location <strong>(Thessaloniki, Drama, Thiva).
