{"id":4537,"date":"2017-12-22T12:13:19","date_gmt":"2017-12-22T12:13:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/?p=4537"},"modified":"2017-12-22T12:30:20","modified_gmt":"2017-12-22T12:30:20","slug":"social-scientist-9","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/en\/social-scientist-9\/","title":{"rendered":"[:el]\u039a\u03bf\u03b9\u03bd\u03c9\u03bd\u03b9\u03ba\u03cc\u03c2 \u0395\u03c0\u03b9\u03c3\u03c4\u03ae\u03bc\u03bf\u03bd\u03b1\u03c2[:en]Social Scientist[:]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Location:\u00a0Athens <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Position: Social Scientist<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Starting Date<\/strong>: ASAP<\/p>\n<p><strong>Status:<\/strong>\u00a0 Full Time<\/p>\n<p><strong>Child Safeguarding Policy<\/strong><\/p>\n<table width=\"753\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"94\"><strong>Level 3<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"340\">The job holder will have regular contact with children<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><strong>Main Duties &amp; Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Social Services Provision<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>Provide comprehensive package of Social Services to refugees.<\/li>\n<li>Providing F2F Counseling, Guidance<\/li>\n<li>Ensure referrals internally and externally<\/li>\n<li>Identify vulnerabilities and facilitate their access to available aid<\/li>\n<li>Accompany beneficiaries to various services when needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>\u00a0Data base and Case related info management<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete and maintain brief and Full Social History<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>\u00a0Other Duties<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Collaborate with other actors in the area (public sector, NGOs and INGOs) to link the beneficiary with the services needed<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide a comprehensive case plan for beneficiaries<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Organise group activities for beneficiaries aiming towards their empowerment<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Promote community engagement through structured activities<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications &amp; skills<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Required <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>University degree from an accredited academic in Humanities or Social Sciences;<\/li>\n<li>Experience in social work within the civil society sector, preferably working with vulnerable groups and refugees\/migrants;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to organize and prioritize workload, using initiative when appropriate;<\/li>\n<li>Confidence with IT tools and software;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work unsupervised and at flexible working schedules;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to troubleshoot and ease potential tensions between the project\u2019s beneficiaries;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to perform fact finding tasks; clearly articulate results in a fair and balanced way;<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication skills;<\/li>\n<li>Basic knowledge of humanitarian sector and stakeholders in Athens;<\/li>\n<li>Native in Greek<\/li>\n<li>Fluent in English (both written and spoken)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desired<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Understanding and speaking of Arabic, Farsi, Dari; or Kurdish<\/li>\n<li>Awareness of the cultural background of Arabic speaking and Asian (i.e. Afghani, Arabic, Iranian) populations, in the context of the current people on the move emergency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are interested in applying, please fill send your CV and motivation letter to <a href=\"mailto:recruitment@solidaritynow.org\">recruitment@solidaritynow.org<\/a> Friday, <strong>January 5th, 2018<\/strong>, mentioning in the email subject <strong>\u201cSocial Scientist_Athens\u00ad\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SN is an equal opportunity employer.
