{"id":4637,"date":"2018-01-12T10:26:01","date_gmt":"2018-01-12T10:26:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/?p=4637"},"modified":"2018-01-12T10:26:01","modified_gmt":"2018-01-12T10:26:01","slug":"educational-officer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/en\/educational-officer\/","title":{"rendered":"Educational Officer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Location<\/strong>: Thessaloniki<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job title<\/strong>: Educational Officer (Mother -Tongue and English)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Starting Date<\/strong>: ASAP<\/p>\n<p><strong>Status<\/strong>: Full Time<\/p>\n<p><strong>Child Safeguarding Policy <\/strong><\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"104\"><strong>Level 3<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"449\">The job holder will have regular contact with children<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><strong>Generic responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Implement after-school <strong>Arabic <\/strong><strong>and English<\/strong><strong> language classes<\/strong> per the refugee population needs<\/li>\n<li>Develop an educational curriculum targeting and addressing the needs of different age groups of children, teenagers, and adults<\/li>\n<li>Provide homework support for the students who attend formal education<\/li>\n<li>Oversee distributions of teaching and learning material according to the population\u2019s needs<\/li>\n<li>Update and maintain effective workplans<\/li>\n<li>Ensure on-going monitoring, tracking and reporting of classes<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain effective filing systems, both electronic and hardcopy<\/li>\n<li>Support education, recreational and various activities<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the identification of vulnerabilities and facilitate access to available aid<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Excellent Arabic <\/strong>and <strong>English<\/strong>; knowledge of Greek will be an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Degree \u2013 Bachelor degree in education (any subject) or Arabic\/English<\/li>\n<li>Proven knowledge of training, curriculum development, implementation and educational administration<\/li>\n<li>At least 1 year of professional experience in educational programs for refugees or rural communities<\/li>\n<li>Experience teaching Arabic and English as a foreign language<\/li>\n<li>Experience engaging with parents and communities in order to improve attendance and address students\u2019 needs<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical and administrative skills in the management of educational programs and mainly primary education<\/li>\n<li>Experience in report writing and excellent computer skills<\/li>\n<li>Experience in training of trainers\/facilitators skills will be an advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are interested in applying, please fill send your CV and motivation letter to <a href=\"mailto:recruitment@solidaritynow.org\">recruitment@solidaritynow.org<\/a> by <strong>Sunday, January 28th, 2018<\/strong>, mentioning in the email subject \u201c<strong>SN Educational Officer_Thessaloniki<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>SN is an equal opportunity employer.
