the reliability of the Association and its compliance with <strong>the law<\/strong>, rules and regulations that the Association is subject to from a wide range of sources and require complex accounting and financial expertise.<\/li>\n<li>Establishes and develops the relationship of the Association with the <strong>Banks<\/strong> and other Authorities and providing all the Legal and Financial Documentation of the Association;<\/li>\n<li>Oversees and approves all association and Program <strong>payments<\/strong> including but not only salaries, tax, social security costs, rents, vendors, Grants related expenses etc.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures the Value for Money principle is applied across all transactions<\/li>\n<li>Provides Accounting and Financial advice and <strong>information<\/strong>, ensuring this information is recorded regularly and methodically so that, in combination with investment in systems and procedures, this information is reliable and readily available to be presented to management and donors.<\/li>\n<li>Uses available information from the accounting systems; <strong>analyses <\/strong>variances and proposes corrective action;<\/li>\n<li>Determines the <strong>Financial control system<\/strong> of the Association and the transaction mechanism with the banks;<\/li>\n<li>Is responsible for the overall <strong>budget <\/strong>of the Association and Programs which is submitted to the Board of Directors; and cooperates with all departments for its implementation;<\/li>\n<li>Is responsible for safeguarding liquidity and monitoring <strong>cash flows<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>Safeguards and managers<strong> the assets<\/strong> of the Association through internal controls, insurance etc.<\/li>\n<li>Maintains and develops <strong>relationships <\/strong>internally and with other organizations;<\/li>\n<li>Is responsible for the preparation of timely monthly consolidated <strong>Financial Statements<\/strong>, Payments and Financial <strong>Reporting <\/strong>to stakeholders; and the annual closing of accounts;<\/li>\n<li>Develops and implements <strong>Internal Control<\/strong> systems;<\/li>\n<li>Maintains relationship with <strong>auditors<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Controls costs<\/strong> and contributes to their reduction by evaluating offers, participating in negotiations; Participates in financial evaluation of Vendors; monitors contracts; monitoring supplier accounts and other legal issues;<\/li>\n<li>Is responsible for the <strong>Plan of Accounts<\/strong> and monitoring Accounting Entries;<\/li>\n<li>Achieves accounting operational objectives by contributing accounting information and recommendations to <strong>strategic plans<\/strong> and reviews;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Supervises and supports Finance team<\/strong>, provides then with technical advice, delegates responsibilities and evaluates the progress of employees and projects;<\/li>\n<li>Participates in Financial <strong>Audits<\/strong> by coordinating preparation of financial documentation required;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>REQUIREMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Education: University Degree in Finance and\/or Accounting (Master\u2019s degree or Professional Certifications in Accounting highly desirable)<\/li>\n<li>Excellent knowledge of latest Greek Tax and Accounting Policies and Standards and associated regulatory issues and trends;<\/li>\n<li>Thorough knowledge and experience in double entry bookkeeping;<\/li>\n<li>Deep understanding and knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS);<\/li>\n<li>Solid work experience as an Accountant in a certified Accounting Practice;<\/li>\n<li>Experience of European Programs and reporting would be an advantage;<\/li>\n<li>Work experience at an NGO would be an advantage, but not a prerequisite;<\/li>\n<li>Very good knowledge of Accounting Software packages (knowledge of Union Accounting Software and Microsoft accounting solutions would be an asset)<\/li>\n<li>Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel<\/li>\n<li>Good analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail and determination to meet deadlines;<\/li>\n<li>Experience of Managing a team;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team;<\/li>\n<li>Excellent strategic planning skills and ability to interact with all levels;<\/li>\n<li>Effective communication skills (both written and oral) in Greek and English;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work well under pressure;<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated capacity and willingness to learn;<\/li>\n<li>Professional attitude towards work;<\/li>\n<li>Pro-active and results oriented<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are interested in applying, please fill send your CV and motivation letter to <a href=\"mailto:recruitment@solidaritynow.org\">recruitment@solidaritynow.org<\/a> by <strong>Sunday, January 28th, 2018<\/strong>, mentioning in the email subject \u201c<strong>SN Accounting Supervisor\/Financial Auditor_Athens<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>SN is an equal opportunity employer.
