{"id":5564,"date":"2018-06-14T13:38:29","date_gmt":"2018-06-14T13:38:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/?p=5564"},"modified":"2018-07-05T13:35:48","modified_gmt":"2018-07-05T13:35:48","slug":"educational-officer-english-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/en\/educational-officer-english-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Educational Officer (English)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Location:<\/strong> Thiva<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job title<\/strong><strong>: <\/strong>Educational Officer (English)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Starting Date<\/strong>: ASAP<\/p>\n<p><strong>Status:\u00a0 <\/strong>Full Time<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Child Safeguarding Policy <\/strong><\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"104\"><strong>Level 3<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"449\">The job holder will have regular contact with children<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Generic responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Provide after-school\u00a0<strong>English language classes<\/strong>\u00a0according to refugee and migrant population needs<\/li>\n<li>Expand and build on the existing educational curriculum, targeting and addressing the needs of different age groups of teenagers and children<\/li>\n<li>Provide homework support to children attending formal education<\/li>\n<li>Oversee distribution of teaching and learning material according to the population\u2019s needs<\/li>\n<li>Update and maintain effective workplans<\/li>\n<li>Ensure on-going monitoring, tracking and reporting of classes<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain effective filing systems, both electronic and hardcopy<\/li>\n<li>Support educational, recreational and other psychosocial activities<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the identification of vulnerabilities and facilitate referrals to available support<\/li>\n<li>Engage with parents, schools and communities in order to improve attendance and respond to students\u2019 needs<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree \u2013 Bachelor degree in English Language and Literature or Education (any subject)<\/li>\n<li>Excellent English and preferably Greek<\/li>\n<li>Masters or Bachelor degree in Intercultural Education will be an advantage<\/li>\n<li>At least 1 year of professional experience in educational programs for refugees or rural\/vulnerable communities<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical and administrative skills in managing educational programs and mainly primary education projects<\/li>\n<li>Excellent Computer skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desired<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proven knowledge of training, curriculum development, implementation and educational administration<\/li>\n<li>Experience in training of trainers\/facilitators skills<\/li>\n<li>Experience of report writing<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Arabic or Farsi will be an advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are interested in applying, please fill send your CV and motivation letter to\u00a0<u><a href=\"mailto:recruitment@solidaritynow.org\">recruitment@solidaritynow.org<\/a><\/u>\u00a0by\u00a0<strong>Sunday, July 8th 2018<\/strong>, mentioning in the email subject\u00a0<strong>\u201cSN Educational Officer (English)_Thiva\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SN is an equal opportunity employer.
