{"id":5618,"date":"2018-06-22T14:06:38","date_gmt":"2018-06-22T14:06:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/?p=5618"},"modified":"2018-06-22T14:06:38","modified_gmt":"2018-06-22T14:06:38","slug":"interpreters-arabic-and-or-kurdish-sorani-and-or-kurmanji","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/en\/interpreters-arabic-and-or-kurdish-sorani-and-or-kurmanji\/","title":{"rendered":"Interpreters, Arabic and\/or Kurdish (Sorani and\/or Kurmanji)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Position: Interpreters, Arabic and\/or Kurdish (Sorani and\/or Kurmanji)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Location<\/strong>: Attica based \u2013 Roving between camp sites: Lavrio, Malakasa, Thiva<\/p>\n<p><strong>Transportation<\/strong> <u>to the camp sites will be provided by SolidarityNow<\/u><\/p>\n<p><strong>Starting Date<\/strong>: ASAP<\/p>\n<p><strong>Status:<\/strong>\u00a0 Full Time Temporary basis contract<\/p>\n<p><strong>Child Safeguarding Policy<\/strong><\/p>\n<table width=\"434\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"94\"><strong>Level 3<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"340\">The job holder will have regular contact with children<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Position within the Organization: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Reports to: Team Leader<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Duties &amp; Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provides clear and accurate interpretation services during confidential\/private sessions with vulnerable individuals, particularly children at risk and survivors of gender-based violence;<\/li>\n<li>Provides clear and accurate interpretation services during protection related informative sessions, briefings, trainings etc;<\/li>\n<li>Provides written translation of documents from Arabic and\/or Kurdish (Sorani and\/or Kurmanji) to English or Greek;<\/li>\n<li>In coordination with other team colleagues, contribute to the identification of particular vulnerabilities and other protection-related issues;<\/li>\n<li>In coordination with other team colleagues, assists in the accompaniment of particularly vulnerable individuals to other service providers;<\/li>\n<li>In coordination with other team colleagues, participates in in field-trips and other external activities;<\/li>\n<li>In coordination with other team colleagues, ensures that all beneficiaries feel comfortable and safe to share their concerns freely, as well as participate in activities;<\/li>\n<li>Performs other position-related duties as assigned by the respective Team Leader<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent command of Arabic and\/or Kurdish (Kurmanji and\/or Sorani);<\/li>\n<li>Excellent command of English and\/or Greek;<\/li>\n<li>Minimum two-years professional experience as an interpreter or cultural mediator;<\/li>\n<li>Minimum one-year professional experience in providing supporting services to vulnerable individuals, including refugee population and particularly children and women;<\/li>\n<li>Familiar with protection issues related to refugee children, families and female survivors of gender-based violence;<\/li>\n<li>High professional ethics;<\/li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal, communication, listening and observation skills, including ability to create trust, support, respect and interact with children of all ages, background and diversity;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and working relations in multi-ethnic environment; Cross Culturally Aware and flexible;<\/li>\n<li>Strong team player;<\/li>\n<li>Computer literate &amp; numerate;<\/li>\n<li>Well organized and efficient, flexible, able to handle pressure well and adapt in different working environments;<\/li>\n<li>Adhere to and promote Child Protection and Child Safeguarding guiding principles;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desired: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Previous working experience with local or international NGOs will be considered an asset<\/li>\n<li>Field Working Experience in Camps\/Temporary Settlements of refugee\/migrant population<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are interested in applying, please fill send your CV and a short motivation letter (in English) to <a href=\"mailto:recruitment@solidaritynow.org\">recruitment@solidaritynow.org<\/a> by <strong>Sunday, July 8, 2018 <\/strong>mentioning in the email subject <strong>\u201cCFSH Interpreter in Arabic\/Kurdish\u201d. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SN is an equal opportunity employer.
