{"id":5753,"date":"2018-07-18T14:42:49","date_gmt":"2018-07-18T14:42:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/?p=5753"},"modified":"2018-07-18T14:43:47","modified_gmt":"2018-07-18T14:43:47","slug":"educational-officer-math-and-science-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/en\/educational-officer-math-and-science-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Educational Officer (Math and Science)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Job title<\/strong>: Educational Officer (Math and Science)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Starting Date<\/strong>: ASAP<\/p>\n<p><strong>Status<\/strong>: Part-Time<\/p>\n<p><strong>Child Safeguarding Policy<\/strong><\/p>\n<table style=\"height: 43px;\" width=\"603\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"104\"><strong>Level 3<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"449\">The job holder will have regular contact with children<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><strong>Generic responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Implement after-school <strong>Math and Science classes<\/strong> per the refugee population needs<\/li>\n<li>Expand and build on the existing educational curriculum, targeting and addressing the needs of different age groups of teenagers and children<\/li>\n<li>Provide homework support for the children who attend formal education<\/li>\n<li>Oversee distributions of teaching and learning material according to the population\u2019s needs<\/li>\n<li>Update and maintain effective work-plans<\/li>\n<li>Ensure on-going monitoring, tracking and reporting of classes<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain effective filing systems, both electronic and hardcopy<\/li>\n<li>Support education, recreational and various activities<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the identification of vulnerabilities and facilitate access to available aid<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Excellent Greek <\/strong>and preferably English or Arabic<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Mathematics\/Science or education (any subject)<\/li>\n<li>Proven knowledge of training, curriculum development, implementation and educational administration<\/li>\n<li>At least 1 year of professional experience in educational programs for refugees or rural communities<\/li>\n<li>Experience teaching non-native speakers<\/li>\n<li>Experience engaging with parents and communities in order to improve attendance and address students\u2019 needs<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical and administrative skills in the management of educational programs and mainly primary education<\/li>\n<li>Experience in report writing and excellent computer skills<\/li>\n<li>Experience in training of trainers\/facilitators skills will be an advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are interested in applying, please fill send your CV and motivation letter to <a href=\"mailto:recruitment@solidaritynow.org\">recruitment@solidaritynow.org<\/a> by <strong>Sunday, July 29, 2018<\/strong>, mentioning in the email subject, <strong>\u201c<\/strong><strong>SN Educational Officer_Math\/Science\u00ad\u00ad_Kavala<\/strong><strong>\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SN is an equal opportunity employer.
