{"id":5831,"date":"2018-08-28T11:26:22","date_gmt":"2018-08-28T11:26:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/?p=5831"},"modified":"2018-08-28T11:26:22","modified_gmt":"2018-08-28T11:26:22","slug":"%ce%ba%ce%bf%ce%b9%ce%bd%cf%89%ce%bd%ce%b9%ce%ba%cf%8c%cf%82-%ce%b5%cf%80%ce%b9%cf%83%cf%84%ce%ae%ce%bc%ce%bf%ce%bd%ce%b1%cf%82","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/en\/%ce%ba%ce%bf%ce%b9%ce%bd%cf%89%ce%bd%ce%b9%ce%ba%cf%8c%cf%82-%ce%b5%cf%80%ce%b9%cf%83%cf%84%ce%ae%ce%bc%ce%bf%ce%bd%ce%b1%cf%82\/","title":{"rendered":"[:el]\u039a\u03bf\u03b9\u03bd\u03c9\u03bd\u03b9\u03ba\u03cc\u03c2 \u0395\u03c0\u03b9\u03c3\u03c4\u03ae\u03bc\u03bf\u03bd\u03b1\u03c2[:en]Social Scientist[:]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Position: <\/strong><strong>Social Scientist<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Status:<\/strong> Full Time<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong> <strong>Thessaloniki<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Starting Date:<\/strong> ASAP<\/p>\n<p><strong>Child Safeguarding Policy<\/strong><\/p>\n<table style=\"height: 32px;\" width=\"763\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"94\"><strong>Level 3<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"340\">The job holder will have regular contact with children<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Position within the Organization: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Reports to: Team Leader<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Duties &amp; Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Focal point of communication and exchange between (a cluster of) hosting and hosted populations;<\/li>\n<li>Directly supports and coaches beneficiaries through the usage of simple communication and moral uplifting techniques;<\/li>\n<li>Assesses and addresses social needs of the beneficiaries, identifies and follows up cases that require special care;<\/li>\n<li>Performs case management in cooperation with other project staff and potentially SN partners involved in services provision;<\/li>\n<li>Cooperates with interpreters where needed for the provision of her\/his services;<\/li>\n<li>Closely cooperates with other team members, passing on the information and expressing the need of action clearly and concisely;<\/li>\n<li>Keeps social register files and statistical records of the caseload and services\u2019 provision;<\/li>\n<li>Manage individual protection cases including those on SGBV and child protection;<\/li>\n<li>Find proper solutions to individuals who are at most risk or victims of violence;<\/li>\n<li>Set strategies and operational measures to effectively prevent and respond to SGBV;<\/li>\n<li>Conduct needs \/ gaps and capacity assessments on SGBV in close coordination with any on-going joint \/ common assessments being conducted in the early stages of emergency response;<\/li>\n<li>Performs social work duties and undertakes procedures implementation when referral(s) to other services are required;<\/li>\n<li>Regular and ad hoc reporting and fact finding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications &amp; skills<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Required<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>University degree from an accredited academic in Humanities or Social Sciences;<\/li>\n<li>Experience in social work within the civil society sector, preferably working with vulnerable groups and refugees\/migrants;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to organize and prioritize workload, using initiative when appropriate;<\/li>\n<li>Confidence with IT tools and software;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work unsupervised and at flexible working schedules;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to troubleshoot and ease potential tensions between the project\u2019s beneficiaries;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to perform fact finding tasks; clearly articulate results in a fair and balanced way;<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication skills;<\/li>\n<li>Basic knowledge of humanitarian sector and stakeholders in Thessaloniki;<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience in street-work and\/or a job entailing direct contact and exchange with groups of beneficiaries, clients, students etc.;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desired<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Understanding and speaking of French, Arabic, Kurdish, Farsi, Pashtu or Urdu.<\/li>\n<li>Awareness of the cultural background of Arabic speaking and Asian (i.e. Afghani, Pakistani, Iranian) populations, in the context of the current people on the move emergency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are interested in applying, please fill send your CV and a short motivation letter (in English) to <a href=\"mailto:recruitment@solidaritynow.org\">recruitment@solidaritynow.org<\/a> by <strong>Wednesday, September 12<sup>th<\/sup>, 2018<\/strong>, mentioning in the email subject \u201c<strong>Social Scientist_Thess<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>SN is an equal opportunity employer.
