{"id":8141,"date":"2020-02-05T09:48:23","date_gmt":"2020-02-05T09:48:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/?p=8141"},"modified":"2020-02-05T09:48:23","modified_gmt":"2020-02-05T09:48:23","slug":"education-officer-greek-teacher","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/en\/education-officer-greek-teacher\/","title":{"rendered":"EDUCATION OFFICER (GREEK TEACHER)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Starting Date:<\/strong>\u00a0ASAP<\/p>\n<p><strong>Status:<\/strong>\u00a0 Full Time<\/p>\n<p><strong>Child Safeguarding Policy: <\/strong>Level 3 \u2013 The job holder will have regular contact with children<\/p>\n<p><strong>Generic responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Implement\u00a0<strong>Greek language classes<\/strong>\u00a0per the student population needs<\/li>\n<li>Expand and build on the existing educational curriculum, targeting and addressing the needs of different age groups of children, teenagers and adults<\/li>\n<li>Provide homework support for the children who attend formal education<\/li>\n<li>Oversee distributions of teaching and learning material according to the population\u2019s needs<\/li>\n<li>Update and maintain effective workplans<\/li>\n<li>Ensure on-going monitoring, tracking and reporting of classes<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain effective filing systems, both electronic and hardcopy<\/li>\n<li>Support education, recreational and various activities<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the identification of vulnerabilities and facilitate access to available aid<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Excellent Greek and English\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Degree \u2013 Bachelor degree in education (any subject) or Greek<\/li>\n<li>Proven knowledge of training, curriculum development, implementation and educational administration<\/li>\n<li>At least 1 year of professional experience in educational programs for vulnerable communities<\/li>\n<li>Experience teaching Greek as a foreign language<\/li>\n<li>Experience engaging with parents and communities in order to improve attendance and address students\u2019 needs<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical and administrative skills in the management of educational programs and mainly primary education<\/li>\n<li>Experience in report writing and excellent computer skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in training of trainers\/facilitators skills will be an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Albanian, Chinese, Georgian, French, Urdu, Russian, Arabic or Farsi will be an advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are interested in applying, please send your CV and motivation letter to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:thes-recruitment@solidaritynow.org\">thes-recruitment@solidaritynow.org<\/a>\u00a0mentioning in the email subject\u00a0<strong>\u201cGreek teacher_Thessaloniki\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><em>SN is an equal opportunity employer.
