{"id":9913,"date":"2020-12-21T11:27:50","date_gmt":"2020-12-21T11:27:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/?p=9913"},"modified":"2020-12-21T11:27:50","modified_gmt":"2020-12-21T11:27:50","slug":"english-senior-educational-officer-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/en\/english-senior-educational-officer-2\/","title":{"rendered":"[:en]SENIOR EDUCATIONAL OFFICER [:]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Starting Date:<\/strong>\u00a0ASAP<\/p>\n<p><strong>Status:<\/strong>\u00a0 Full Time<\/p>\n<p><strong>Child Safeguarding Policy: <\/strong>Level 3 \u2013 The job holder will have regular contact with children<\/p>\n<p><strong>Generic responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Implement after-school educational activities, including classes, per the refugee population needs<\/li>\n<li>Expand and build on the existing educational curriculum that targets and addresses the needs of different age groups of teenagers and children<\/li>\n<li>Provide homework support for the children who attend formal education<\/li>\n<li>Oversee distributions of teaching and learning material according to the population\u2019s needs<\/li>\n<li>Update and maintain effective workplans<\/li>\n<li>Ensure on-going monitoring, tracking and reporting of educational projects<\/li>\n<li>Supervise other teachers and provide support to them in line with program objectives<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain effective filing systems, both electronic and hardcopy<\/li>\n<li>Support education, recreational and various activities<\/li>\n<li>Communicate with donor and file corresponding reports<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the identification of vulnerabilities and facilitate access to available aid<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent Greek and English<\/li>\n<li>Degree \u2013 Bachelor degree in education (any subject) or Greek<\/li>\n<li>Proven knowledge of training, curriculum development, implementation and educational administration<\/li>\n<li>Proven academic or on-job training and understanding of the Project Cycle model in managing humanitarian assistance<\/li>\n<li>At least 2 years of professional experience in educational programs for refugees or rural communities<\/li>\n<li>Experience teaching Greek as a foreign language<\/li>\n<li>Experience engaging with parents and communities in order to improve attendance and address students\u2019 needs<\/li>\n<li>Experience gained within an international humanitarian NGO will be an added advantage<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical and administrative skills in the management of educational programs and mainly primary education<\/li>\n<li>Experience in report writing and excellent computer skills<\/li>\n<li>Experience in training of trainers\/facilitators skills will be an advantage<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are interested in applying, please send your CV and motivation letter to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:recruitment@solidaritynow.org\">recruitment@solidaritynow.org<\/a>\u00a0mentioning in the email subject\u00a0<strong>\u201cSenior Educational Officer_<\/strong><strong>Malakasa<\/strong><strong>\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><em>SN is an equal opportunity employer.
