Job Overview
The job holder is expected to fulfill financial and administrative tasks in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations. The ideal candidate may be able to work under fast track conditions and meet deadlines.
Main Responsibilities and Duties
- Support financial administration;
- Perform financial monitoring of programmes;
- Perform the day to day processing of financial transactions;
- Receive and verify invoices;
- Maintain listing of accounts receivable and payable;
- Ensure maintenance of the general and subsidiary ledgers;
- Maintain all financial records and files as per the company policies;
- Identify and resolve invoicing issues, accounting discrepancies and other financial related issues;
- Coordinate with finance in preparation of financial reports and statements;
- Data entry.
- Maintain confidential information discreetly and protect employee privacy.
Qualifications
Essential:
- University degree from an accredited academic institution in Economics/Accountancy;
- Experience in similar position for at least 1 year, preferably in NGO context;
- Experience in tax and social security legislation and bookkeeping;
- Experience in effective budgetary control;
- Fluency in Greek and English language;
- Strong interpersonal & communications skills;
- Sound work ethics;
- Well organized and efficient;
- Responsibility, accuracy and attention to detail;
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure;
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team;
- Strong IT skills (excel, word, internet, etc.)
Desired:
- Previous experience with NGOs;
- Experience of monitoring of funded projects;
- Experience in drawing up financial statements, budgets and reports.
