Introduction
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Greek Language Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to teaching Greek as a second language to adults with a specific focus on job readiness for those seeking employment opportunities in Greece. This role requires expertise in Greek language instruction and a deep understanding of the cultural nuances relevant to the workplace in Greece.
Responsibilities
- Curriculum Development: Design and develop a curriculum that focuses on Greek language skills essential for job readiness, including vocabulary and communication skills relevant to the workplace. Incorporate real-world scenarios, workplace etiquette, and cultural nuances into the curriculum to prepare students for professional environments.
- Classroom Instruction: Conduct engaging and interactive Greek language classes for adult learners. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation and skill development.
- Assessment and Feedback: Implement effective assessment methods to evaluate students’ language proficiency and job readiness skills. Provide constructive feedback to students to support their continuous improvement.
- Cultural Integration: Integrate cultural elements into the curriculum to enhance students’ understanding of Greek workplace culture and customs. Offer insights into professional etiquette, communication norms, and workplace expectations in Greece.
- Individualized Support: Provide individualized support to address the unique learning needs and goals of each student. Offer additional resources and guidance for students seeking specific job opportunities in Greece.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and student needs. Participate in professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in language instruction and job readiness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Greek Language Teaching, Linguistics, or a related field. Teaching certification is preferred.
- Native or near-native proficiency in Greek.
- Proficiency in English is desirable.
- Proven experience in teaching Greek as a second language to adults. Familiarity with adult education principles and methodologies.
- Deep understanding of Greek workplace culture and the ability to impart cultural insights to students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively in both Greek and English.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of adult learners.
