Job Overview

A Monitoring & Evaluation Officer is an integral part of Solidarity Now as his/her work is at the very core of the organisation. A Monitoring and Evaluation Officer is monitoring and evaluating SN-implemented programmes, is supporting data analysis and participating in relevant research. The Monitoring & Evaluation officer sits between the Programmes and Advocacy Departments, forging a link between the two and drawing relevant information from one to drive work in the latter. The Monitoring & Evaluation officer will facilitate the achievement of project objectives through monitoring and reporting on project activities and providing technical guidance and advice to Solidarity Now’s staff.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Collect, update and maintain all stakeholder’s data in a safe & confidential format in line with SN’s data protection requirements.
  • Contribute to the design of monitoring & evaluation systems and tools
  • Participate in the capacity building and training of SN staff in monitoring tools.
  • Conduct primary data collection, including interviews, surveys, and focus group discussions, as required by SN programmes.
  • Analyse data and measures SN’s achievements against set goals per program
  • Ensure data quality and manage data according to internal and donor standards.
  • Undertake any other duties as requested by the Programs Department and/or the M&E Manager

Job Requirements / Skills Required

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
  • Master’s degree in relevant field (e.g., Humanities, Education, Political Science, Business Administration, Information Technology, Statistics and/or related field).
  • Sound knowledge and experience of NGO program cycle management
  • Understanding and knowledge of the humanitarian context and civil society environment in Greece.
  • High computer literacy especially EXCEL (SPSS or another statistical package would be a plus)
  • Good understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
  • Database management experience (ideally knowledge of CRM systems)
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and plan
  • Ability to take on new initiatives
  • Fluency in Greek and English, proficiency in other languages desirable
  • Field experience working with refugees/migrants and/or other vulnerable groups would be appreciated.
