Job Overview

The post holders are responsible for the successful implementation of all teaching activities for the target group population, in each camp of responsibility. Under the guidance of the Senior Educational Teachers and the Project Area Manager, they will perform vigorous follow-up and get directly involved in the implementation of different educational activities related to the beneficiaries of SolidarityNow, upon Maths & Science, Greek and English language.

Generic responsibilities

  • Provide homework support for the children who attend formal education.
  • Implement after-school educational activities and classes, per the refugee population needs on subjects such as Mathematics & Science, Greek and English Language (depending on the specialization of the teacher)
  • Expand and build on the existing educational curriculum, targeting and addressing the needs of different age groups of children and teenagers.
  • Oversee distributions of teaching and learning material according to the population’s needs.
  • Update and maintain effective workplans.
  • Ensure on-going monitoring, tracking, and reporting of classes.
  • Develop and maintain effective filing systems, both electronic and hardcopy.
  • Support educational, recreational and various activities.
  • Contribute to the identification of vulnerabilities and facilitate access to available aid.
  • Engage with parents, schools and communities in order to improve attendance and address students’ needs.


  • Excellent Greek and English language
  • Degree – Bachelor degree in desired educational studies
  • Proven knowledge of training, curriculum development, implementation and/or educational administration
  • At least 1 year of professional experience in educational programs for refugees or rural communities
  • Experience in teaching
  • Experience in engaging with parents and communities in order to improve attendance and address students’ needs
  • Experience in report writing and excellent computer skills
  • Experience in training of trainers/facilitators skills will be an advantage
