The Helios Junior program of the Ministry of Migration and Asylum is implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) with the co-funding of the European Union, in collaboration with experienced implementation partners, among which is SolidarityNow.
The action aims to facilitate the integration of 2,000 former unaccompanied minors into Greek society and the labor market, providing personalized services and support for their smooth transition from previous accommodation structures to independent living.
Duration: 31 months
The role of SolidarityNow
The organization provides the following services to the beneficiaries of the program:
- Housing: Ensuring accommodation in 38 rented and fully furnished apartments, for a maximum duration of up to 18 months, accompanied by support and counseling services aimed at promoting independent living.
Registration requirements
Who
- Third-country nationals legally residing in Greece, former unaccompanied minors.
- Individuals aged 18 to 21 years. At the date of their registration, they must be 18 years of age and not have exceeded 20 years and 6 months.
- Individuals with full self-care capacity.
- Individuals who do not use addictive substances.
- Individuals who will follow the individual integration plan and the program instructions.
How
Individuals who meet the above requirements can apply as follows:
- Individuals residing in a shelter or semi-independent apartment for unaccompanied minors or an emergency accommodation structure should contact the respective accommodation provider for submission and referral of the application.
- Individuals residing in an accommodation facility should contact the Reception and Identification Service referral and submission of the application.
- Individuals not residing in a facility of the Ministry of Migration and Asylum may contact the Migrant Integration Centers (KEM), and public or municipal social services of residence and the cooperating implementing agencies to submit their application.
