HELIOS+ is a portfolio of 13 regional Integration Projects, one for each Greek region, dedicated to fostering the integration of third-country nationals into Greece’s labour market and society. Designed by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) with the support of the Government of Greece (GoG), HELIOS+ builds upon the successful foundation of the HELIOS Project (2019–2024). Co-financed by the European Social Fund+ (ESF+) under the Regional Programs (RP) for 2021–2027, HELIOS+ aligns fully with Greece’s National Strategy for Integration. 

The core commitment of HELIOS+ is to empower Beneficiaries of International and Temporary Protection residing in Greece by providing them with the tools and resources required to achieve socio-economic independence and active participation in the Greek community. Through a set of services tailored to the needs of beneficiaries, their self-sufficiency is enhanced, and their integration and inclusion in Greek society and the country’s economic life are promoted.   

SolidarityNow is implementing the HELIOS+ project across two regions in Greece, by operating two HELIOS+ Centers, one in the region of Central Macedonia and the other in Attica. Specifically, the implementation is carried out:

• In the Region of Central Macedonia, where SolidarityNow is the Lead Partner in a Consortium of Partners together with the Major Development Agency Thessaloniki (MDAT S.A.), the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) Thessaloniki, and Caritas Hellas.
• In the Region of Attica, as a member of a Consortium of Partners together with Caritas Hellas and the International Rescue Committee (IRC) Hellas.

SolidarityNow, as an implementing body within HELIOS+:

• Supports professional development and enhances employment opportunities by facilitating beneficiaries’ access to the labor market. This is achieved through actions that connect employers with beneficiaries, help them find jobs, and assist beneficiaries in networking with local employers throughout the region.
• Promotes awareness and empowerment of local communities and stakeholders, at a local and regional level, through activities that strengthen social cohesion and promote cultural exchange.

By providing targeted support, the HELIOS+ project helps the program’s target group integrate into the Greek labor market and society, strengthens local communities, promotes a shared sense of belonging, and fosters the European way of life through inclusion, cooperation, and sustainable development.
