Accounting Officer

Key Accountabilities

  • Performs accounting entries, update ledgers and reconcile accounts
  • Supports the preparation and coordination of the audit process, as well as, the internal financial controls and procedures
  • Ensures all assigned reconciliations are prepared and reviewed accurately
  • Communicates on a regular basis with vendors, reconciling accounts and following up on payments
  • Supports month-end and year-end process and financial reports
  • Participates in audits by donors and/or chartered accountants
  • Assists in budgeting
  • Carries out the monthly payroll and registers the payroll account entries
  • Ensures all payroll procedures are performed accurately and timely
  • Allocates salary costs to the respective cost centers
  • Ensures compliance with the Greek Labor and Insurance Legislation
  • Ad hoc requests, as needed

 Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience
  • Familiarity with Navision and Pylon will be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of Greek GAAP (IFRS would be a plus)
  • Knowledge of ERGANI
  • Excellent use of MS Office Suite (particularly Excel)
  • Fluency in Greek and English, both oral and written
