Responsibilities and Duties:

Project Management & Implementation

  • Coordinating projects across thematic areas (education, livelihoods, protection, and access to justice) ensuring quality of interventions.
  • Overseeing projects throughout the project management cycle, working closely with Project Coordinators to ensure impact, identify areas for improvement and initiate communication between departments.
  • In collaboration with Project Coordinators, ensure that project implementation is timely, on target and on budget.
  • Provide technical support to the implementation teams and ensure that implementation is standardised across teams and geographical locations.
  • Conduct frequent visits to the various programme sites to support field teams.
  • Encourage critical reflection, innovation and culture of learning so that programme activities are constantly adjusted to better respond to the needs of beneficiaries.
  • Establish close communication lines with donors to facilitate implementation.
  • Preparing internal and external reports.
  • Preparing and reviewing financial and other documentation to support audits.
  • Carrying out administrative actions relating to the implementation of projects.

Programme Development

  • Leading the development of quality project proposals, concept notes, budgets, and log-frames to strengthen and expand programmes and support fundraising efforts in line with the organisational strategy.
  • Developing and managing consortiums for the design of EU-funded projects.
  • Identifying new funding opportunities from EU, national and private sources.

 Partnerships and Representation

  • Developing and maintaining partnerships (private, public and third sector) to expand and strengthen programmes.
  • Representing the organisation nationally and internationally in meetings, working groups and conferences.
  • Regularly communicating with other organizations, public authorities, grassroots organizations.

Job Requirements / Skills Required

  • Minimum 5 years of senior management experience in a humanitarian/ development context, including significant field experience.
  • Master’s degree in relevant field (i.e., Humanities, Social Sciences, Political Sciences, International Relations, Law) or equivalent experience.
  • Outstanding project management and organisational skills.
  • Sound knowledge and experience of NGO humanitarian/development program cycle management.
  • Sound programmatic knowledge of one or more of the following priority areas will be highly appreciated: Migration, Education, Protection, Employment.
  • Good knowledge of Greek and international humanitarian systems, institutions, donors, and procedures.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills in Greek and English
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven Leadership skills
  • Ability to prioritize and plan activities and actions.
  • Solution-driven with ability to take on new initiatives.
  • Fluency in Greek and English, proficiency in other languages desirable
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel etc.)
