Reports To: Director of Finance & HR

Job Overview

The job holder is expected to fulfill financial, accounting and administrative tasks in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations, in accordance with the needs of the finance department. The ideal candidate may be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines, under the guidelines and supervision of the Director of Finance & HR.

Main Responsibilities and Duties

  • Support financial administration.
  • Perform financial monitoring of programs.
  • Perform financial and accounting monitoring and control of the partner.
  • Perform the day-to-day processing of financial transactions.
  • Receive and verify invoices.
  • Ensure maintenance of the general and subsidiary ledgers.
  • Maintain all financial records and files as per SN’s policies.
  • Identify and resolve invoicing issues, accounting discrepancies and other financial related issues (SN’s and partner’s).
  • Data entry of reports, audits, etc. as required.
  • Maintain confidential information discreetly and protect employee privacy.

Qualifications 

Essential:

  • University degree from an accredited academic institution in Accountancy and Finance.
  • Experience in similar position for at least 3 years, preferably in NGO context.
  • Experience in carrying out accounting tasks.
  • Fluency in Greek and English language.
  • Strong interpersonal & communications skills.
  • Sound work ethics.
  • Well organized and efficient.
  • Responsibility, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team.
  • Strong IT skills (excel, word, internet, etc.).

Desired:

  • Previous experience with NGOs;
  • Experience in financial monitoring of projects;
  • Experience in drawing up financial statements, budgets and reports.
