SolidarityNow, in collaboration with UNIVERSAL EDUCATION S.A., is implementing the “Provision of Greek language courses in mainland Greece” project.
The project is funded by the International Organization for Migration (IOM Greece), in cooperation with the Ministry of Migration and Asylum, as part of the “Promotion of the integration of the refugee population into the labour market” project under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), with the funding of the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
The project is addressed to beneficiaries of international protection, such as recognized refugees and beneficiaries of subsidiary protection residing either in accommodation facilities of the Ministry of Migration and Asylum or in urban areas. It also includes beneficiaries of temporary protection, legal migrants, and asylum seekers in the context of the pre-accession process in the regions of: Attica, Central Greece, Central Macedonia, Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Epirus and Thessaly.
The educational program concerns:
- the acquisition of language skills in the Greek language
- learning intercultural skills with an emphasis on Greek culture, Europe and its values
- specialized terminology for professions in demand in the labor market in Greece across the tourism, agriculture, construction/technical sectors, and women’s employment
- knowledge of labor rights for integration into the labor market.
The training, lasting 80 hours (9 hours per week), can be carried out either through the distance learning method or through the in-person method, by instructors who have long-term experience in teaching Greek as a second language.
Those who successfully complete the program can participate in a paid internship, provided by IOM, for their smooth integration into the labor market.
The action is implemented in the framework of National Recovery and Resilience Greece 2.0 with the funding of the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
