Position Summary: The leader of the ASC lawyers team will provide legal counselling and case management for all walk-in ASC beneficiaries or referred beneficiaries, including from SN’s mobile teams.

The team leader will identify vulnerabilities in order to link up eligible cases with support and aid available, and will facilitate the implementation of SN’s protection program. The team leader will also be responsible for monitoring the attendance of other lawyers of the ASC legal team.

Responsibilities

Legal Services Provision

• Provide legal counselling in areas of civil, criminal and family law to walk-in beneficiaries, irrespective of background.
• Provide individual counselling on the asylum procedure/international protection/refugee laws and individual rights, follow up on cases regarding the European Relocation scheme, Family Reunification, and other cases that need legal assistance. Provide legal assistance in administrative procedures regarding issuing of birth certificate, tax number, work permits etc., Handle the identified legal cases from the sites.
• Plan, Organize and Supervise the provision of legal consulting/aid
• Undertake legal cases and legally represent to the court (depending on the availability of resources in this area)
• Identify cases for strategic litigation

Responsibilities

Interpretation

• Mediate with beneficiaries while briefings or sessions are conducted
• Ensure accurate and precise information is passed to the beneficiaries in an understandable and culturally acceptable way.  

Database and Case related info management

• Filling and registering all cases and actions to the Database upon instructions of the supervisor
• Maintain hard and electronic files archive updated
• Perform entries in the database system as required by the above

Other Duties

• Participate in Field Trips and Assessments as requested and directed by Supervisor
• Brief and debrief beneficiaries for running programs availability and inform for any relevant change
• Contribute to the identification of vulnerabilities and facilitate their access to available aid
• Accompany team members in occasional field visits /FU visits to houses of beneficiaries

Required qualifications and skills

Essential

• Fluent in Bengali
• Previous Experience in Relevant Position
• Familiar with Refugee and Migration Issues
• Cross-Cultural Awareness and flexibility
• Computer literate & numerate
• Well organized and efficient
• Good interpersonal & communications skills
• Fluent in Greek or in English

Desired

• Field Working Experience entry points, Camps/Temporary Settlement or mobile units serving refugee population
• Proven Engagement in Refugee Focused Projects (e.g. Assessments, Surveys, Missions in Islands or to the borders).

Position Summary: The Advocacy Officer is expected to update and coordinate SN’s integrated advocacy plan.

Responsibilities

• Help update and enrich SN’s advocacy plan; help define new areas according to changing needs; and have the competence to translate overall objectives into concrete plans of action.
• Monitor the planned activities in close collaboration with partners and report on their progress regularly
• Communicate with other NGOs and actors as to build synergies and advocacy alliances
• Ensure proper flow of information upstream and downstream, through regular participation in the meetings
• Build a solid base for any advocacy objective by means of using data and evidence from all available sources
• Collaborate with the Heads of Communication and Programs within the frame of the advocacy plan
• Build connections, networks and synergies through regular contact with other NGOs and actors on the ground

Required qualifications and skills

Essential

• University or higher education degree in social sciences, law or communications
• Three (3) years of experience in humanitarian /relief service provision, organization or reception post
• Cross-cultural awareness and flexibility
• Computer literate
• Well-organized and efficient
• Good interpersonal & communications skills
• Native in Greek
• Fluent in English (both oral and written)
• Ability to work under pressure and multitask

Desired

• Proven professional experience in advocacy-related projects
