About the Project

UNICEF, together with the Ministry of Health, has launched the National Programme for the Promotion of Family and Child Health in Greece. A key component is the piloting of the Triple P – Positive Parenting Program, an evidence-based intervention that equips parents with skills, confidence, and knowledge to support their children’s development and wellbeing.

The program is implemented by SolidarityNow in the regions of Attica, Central Macedonia, and Epirus and includes perinatal parenting support and support for parents of children aged 1–16 years. Activities include parenting seminars, group sessions, individual counselling, psychosocial support, and community outreach.

Position Summary

The Parenting Practitioner is responsible for the delivery of Triple P parenting programs to parents, including seminars, group sessions, and individual counselling. Practitioners will also cover basic psychosocial support and community outreach responsibilities to maximize engagement and ensure inclusivity.

As frontline staff, they play a crucial role in supporting families, raising awareness, and documenting outcomes. They will receive Triple P training and accreditation, participate in supervision sessions, and contribute to monitoring and reporting.

Main Responsibilities

• Facilitate Triple P seminars, group sessions, and counselling for parents during the perinatal period (Lot 1) and/or parents of children aged 1–16 (Lot 2).
• Provide one-to-one counselling sessions to parents (in person, remotely, or through home visits).
• Adapt delivery to diverse family needs, including vulnerable populations (e.g. migrants/refugees).
• Offer basic psychosocial support to parents experiencing stress or difficulties.
• Engage families through schools, health centers, municipalities, and community networks.
• Support the development and distribution of positive parenting awareness materials (flyers, posters, social media).
• Contribute to awareness events, health fairs, and local parenting initiatives.
• Complete Triple P training and accreditation requirements (attendance, delivery, supervision).
• Maintain accurate records of participation, feedback, and case notes in line with data protection standards.
• Provide qualitative and quantitative data to support project monitoring and reporting needs.
• Contribute to final project evaluation and documentation of lessons learned.

Required qualifications and skills

• Degree in psychology, social work, social sciences, education, early childhood education, midwifery, or related field.
• Experience working with families and/or demonstrable knowledge of child development, with at least one year of relevant professional experience. Experience in group facilitation, outreach, or community engagement is desirable.
• Proficiency in Greek and English (the Triple P training will be delivered in English).
