SolidarityNow co-organized the premiere of the film “Along the Way” directed by Mijke de Jong, as part of the 6th Athens International Children’s Film Festival, on Sunday, November 19, at the Danaos cinema.

Everyone was there at the premiere. The director, the two protagonists, representatives of the organization and the audience, that through this film had the opportunity to see what it really means to flee your homeland because you are looking for what by others is taking for granted. Peace, safety, justice.

At the premiere, Fay Koutzoukou, Deputy General Director of SolidarityNow, presented the work of the organization during its 10 years of operation, and discussed the situation of refugees in Greece with the director and the protagonists.

A few words about the film

On the border of Turkey and Iran, 19-year-old Afghan twin sisters Zahra and Fatima lose their family. To survive in a hostile world of people smugglers and drug dealers, they face choices and dilemmas that severely test their symbiotic relationship and conscience.
