Job Overview

SolidarityNow (SN) is seeking a skilled and experienced Social Scientist to contribute to the “PROCAP / Protection of Trafficking Victims, Capacity Building, and Support to Key Social Partners” project. The role aims to establish a strong protection and support system for third-country nationals who are victims of human trafficking while promoting updated knowledge on trafficking prevention and identification through a gender-sensitive and child-sensitive approach.

The Social Scientist will be responsible for organizing, supervising, and leading the provision of quality and comprehensive social services to vulnerable individuals.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the smooth functioning of the program, ensuring quality, and responsive service provision.
• Provide a comprehensive package of social services to beneficiaries (in person and remotely)
• Provide case management for victims or potential victims of human trafficking and liaise with competent authorities and professionals as required.
• Preparation of relevant documentation to support asylum and other processes as required by each beneficiary.
• Preparation of psychosocial reports for the support in legal representation acts, in collaboration with the lawyer of the team,
• Assessing effectiveness of service delivery and proposing changes for its improvement.
• Close collaboration with other SN Services or other external actors to respond to holistic needs of each individual.
• External referrals and access facilitation for (amongst others) welfare and medical services.
• Accompaniment for particularly vulnerable cases.
• Preparation of internal reports and collection and uploading of information in Procap database.
• Ensure smooth cooperation and collaboration with other services, both within SolidarityNow and with other organisations.
• Support outreach efforts and the establishment of partnerships with other actors.
• Represent ProCap and SN in relevant working groups, national and international fora.
• Collaborate with SN Advocacy Manager for the design and implementation of effective advocacy and policy actions to improve the situation for programme beneficiaries.
• Perform other duties, related to job description as requested by supervisor.

Required Qualifications

• University degree (preferably Master’s) from an accredited academic institution, in Social Work Degree, as well as Social Worker Permission of Work.
• Extended experience in similar position, supporting vulnerable groups.
• Proven coordination experience.
• Experience/awareness of providing support to children and survivors of Gender-based Violence (GBV)
• Understanding and willingness to promote gender equality and understand different vulnerabilities, needs and capacities of men, women, boys and girls.
• Cross Cultural Awareness and flexibility
• Computer literate & numerate.
• Well organized and efficient.
• Excellent interpersonal & communications skills.
• Fluent in English and Greek (both written and spoken).).

Desired Qualifications

• Previous experience working with NGOs is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of the legal framework for victims of human trafficking.
• Previous employment in the field of trafficking victim protection.
