SolidarityNow (SN) was founded in 2013 to respond to the needs of the most vulnerable and marginalized groups, irrespective of race, religion or ethnicity. SN partners with national and international NGOs, local government and the private sector to lift social, economic and cultural barriers, promoting an environment where individuals can access opportunities and participate in an inclusive, democratic and open society. SN has to date served more than 100,000 beneficiaries directly and more than 220,000 through grants to other organizations and partners.

Position: Fundraising Officer

Child Safeguarding Policy

 Objective: To provide assistance to the SN’s programs’ team to identify private donor resources, raise funds and write proposals & presentations for long-term organizational sustainability.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Compile and maintain a database of international and local donor organizations (international foundations, bilateral and multilateral agencies and private corporations offering donations, through CSR programs)
• Regularly monitor donor websites and identify and inform donor opportunities matching the work of the organization
• Support SN programs department to carry out research and context analysis in preparation for proposals and fundraising activities
• Assist in writing concept notes, project ideas and project proposals
• Undertake independent research in finding alternative resources for long-term sustainability of the organization
• Provide assistance in organizing fundraising events for the organization
• Identify and attend fundraising and CSR events in Greece and abroad, when required
• Prepare presentations and other documentation on SN background and activities
• Use online fundraising tools, including crowdfunding, effectively

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communication, Marketing, Business or any other relevant field
• Minimum two years of professional experience in Fundraising or communication, ideally in the humanitarian field
• Knowledge about fundraising and corporate social responsibility
• Strong communication skills in English
• Fluency in Greek is mandatory
