Power2UAMs: Ensuring Equal Access, Participation, and Voice at the Local Level 

The Power2UAMs project is committed to ensuring that unaccompanied minors (UAMs) have equal access to quality public services at the local level. By addressing gaps and strengthening collaboration, it seeks to build sustainable and inclusive systems of support. The project focuses on selected localities in Belgium (Brussels, Ghent and Liège), France (Calais), and Greece (Athens, Piraeus), while also engaging at the EU level. 

Key activities include:

• Data collection:Gathering comparable qualitative and quantitative data on the needs of UAMs and their access to local services.
• Reinforcing coordination:Bringing together local stakeholders through working groups and regular meetings.
• Empowering young voices: Establishing child participation platforms in each selected locality to ensure UAMs are heard and included.
• Developing local strategies: Designing tailored responses to address the specific needs of UAMs in each community.
• Advocating for change: Driving sustainable improvements through advocacy at local and national levels, including legal action when necessary.
• Sharing practical tools: Producing a Toolkit to guide local stakeholders in guaranteeing equal access to services for UAMs.
