Social Services Provision

Job Overview

The Female Friendly Space Facilitator acts as the coordinator of the space for women and girls. She facilitates access and ensures overall smooth functioning of the space; she conducts tailored psychosocial activities, identifies protection needs and works with other team members in providing support (including referrals); she encourages the participation of women and girls in group and individual activities (including awareness-raising on SGBV issues, among other themes, and skills-building sessions), so as to facilitate their overall integration and wellbeing.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Create a safe and welcoming environment for female beneficiaries.
• Maintain a comfortable and safe environment where women and girls can participate in psychosocial activities and receive appropriate support, including services for toddlers with their mothers.
• Prepares and implements structured activities for women, girls and mother-child, including the design of weekly schedules and timetables, through a participatory approach, tailored to their needs, skills and cultural diversities
• Identifies protection and other support needs and refers them to respective colleagues or/and other service providers
• Carries out awareness raising sessions focusing on gender issues/GBV, Health/Hygiene, Nutrition, Livelihoods, Skills-building etc. Other group activities may include informal trainings, group discussions, information-sharing, art therapy, leisure time activities, playtime etc.

• In collaboration with the employability staff, identify and provide comprehensive package of Social Services to beneficiaries.
• Assess needs of beneficiaries and develop an intervention/pathway plan ensuring.
• Special needs of most vulnerable are identified and addressed
• Provide adequate information on available services and relevant procedures
• Provide comprehensive package of Social Services to the beneficiaries in (and if requested out) of SolidarityNow Premises (for issuing Social Security Number, bank accounts, etc)
• Providing F2F Counseling, Guidance
• Ensure referrals internally and externally and follow up on referrals whilst always respecting confidentiality
• Identify particularly vulnerable individuals/groups and facilitate their access to available aid
• Perform occasional field visits
• Able to manage Sexual-Gender Based (SGBV) cases and cooperate with competent authorities and professionals (doctors, public prosecutor) in managing such cases.
• Experienced in efficient handling of Trafficking Victims

 Data base and Case related info management

• Brief and full social history taking

 Other Duties

• Collaborate with other actors in the area (public sector, NGOs and INGOs) to link the beneficiaries with the services needed
• Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide a comprehensive case plan for beneficiaries
• Organize group activities for beneficiaries aiming to their empowerment
• Promote community engagement through structured activities

Required qualifications and skills

• Degree on Social Work
• Permission of Work
• Experience in social work within the civil society sector, preferably working with vulnerable groups and refugees/migrants
• 3 years’ experience in relevant position (at least 2 years in Social Service and project serving refugees and migrants population)
• Familiar with Refugee and Migration Issues
• Cross Cultural Awareness and flexibility
• Computer literate & numerate
• Well organized and efficient
• Good interpersonal & communications skills
• Native in Greek
• Fluent in English (both written and spoken)

Desired

• Field work experience, e.g. in camps or temporary settlements
• Interest and experience to work with vulnerable groups
• Knowledge of Arabic, French or Farsi

Job Overview

The postholder is responsible for welcoming beneficiaries to the center and facilitating access to the BRC staff and services.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes beneficiaries in a professional and friendly manner.
• Greet beneficiaries, sharing information about BRC, the services provided, and the process required to access them.
• Provide information and referrals about complementary services provided outside BRC.
• Ensure the proper registration of beneficiaries in accordance with BRC operating system (issuing cards, managing database, ensuring GDPR process is adhered to).
• Responds to incoming calls, shares information, takes messages etc.
• In coordination with the BRC personnel, ensure that beneficiaries feel comfortable and safe to share their concerns freely.
• Administrative and logistics tasks to support the daily operation of the BRC.
• Other position-related responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

• University or advanced education degree.
• Experience in Humanitarian field in Greece.
• Excellent organization, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Cross Cultural Awareness and flexibility.
• Computer literacy.
• Fluency in Greek and English. Knowledge of Arabic/Farsi/French will be highly appreciated.
