Responsibilities

  • Be the focal point for all landlords, building managers for all accommodation structures that SN operates in Thessaloniki
  • Keep a physical and digital archive and always keep update apartments’ database with all the required info (record date of contract, owner bank account details, Electricity and Water account numbers and monthly costs or any other information upon supervisor request)
  • Collect all utilities’ bills and ensure that have not been expired
  • Make sure that all rental or utilities contracts have not expired and inform the Opt Officer and request directions regarding next steps
  • Prepare all documentation needed with regards to accommodation expenses to be forwarded to Finance Dpt for payment
  • In agreement with Opt Officer collaborate with Finance Dpt to initiate all payments regarding accommodation (rentals, utilities bills, common spaces expenses etc)
  • Keep and update log books by recording all assets and repairs for all accommodation structures and flats in collaboration with the Supply Chain Unit
  • Work closely with social workers and the whole team to visit beneficiaries’ apartments once per month ensuring that the apartments’ condition is appropriate and record any damage/repair needed
  • Prepare repairs’ reports and plan any repair/ renovation work needed on a monthly basis and share the plan with the Opt Officer and Supply Chain Unit
  • On a daily basis plan and coordinate any technical work and maintenance of apartments in collaboration with the technical staff and Supply Chain Unit, when necessary
  • Monitor all shelter and infrastructure activities, ensuring compliance with strategies and guidance provided and agreed per signed contracts
  • Prepare and send reports to Opts Dpt
  • Close and regular contact with Operations Dpt, technical staff and Thessaloniki Project Coordinator to discuss matters relating to apartments and infrastructure

Requirements

  • Degree from Technical Institutions
  • Experience in real estate management would be an extra asset.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload, using initiative when appropriate;

Child Safeguarding Policy

Level 3 The job holder will have regular contact with children

Generic responsibilities

  1. Provide after-school Arabic language classes according to refugee and migrant population needs
  2. Develop an educational curriculum targeting and addressing the needs of different age groups of teenagers and children
  3. Provide homework support for the children who attend formal education
  4. Oversee distributions of teaching and learning material according to the population’s needs
  5. Update and maintain effective workplans
  6. Ensure on-going monitoring, tracking and reporting of classes
  7. Develop and maintain effective filing systems, both electronic and hardcopy
  8. Support education, recreational and various activities
  9. Contribute to the identification of vulnerabilities and facilitate referrals to available support
  10. Engage with parents, schools and communities in order to improve attendance and respond to students’ needs

Qualifications

Essencial

  • Excellent command of Arabic and at least of one more language, either Greek or English
  • Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Education (any subject) or Arabic Language will be a strong asset
  • Professional (or volunteer) experience in educational programs for refugees or rural/vulnerable communities or experience teaching Arabic as a foreign language will be a strong asset
  • Strong analytical and administrative skills in the management of educational programs and mainly primary education

Desired

  • Proven knowledge of training, curriculum development, implementation and educational administration
  • Experience in training of trainers/facilitators skills
  • Knowledge of report writing
  • Experience in report writing and excellent computer skills
  • Experience in training of trainers/facilitators skills will be an advantage
