  • Develop and maintain internal control and effective accounting system and policies for the set up.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: University Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; (M.B.A or Master’s degree will be considered as an asset)
  • Good understanding of financial and accounting policies, standards and associated regulatory issues and in Compliance with Greek Accounting Standards;
  • Work experience with community development projects and/or NGOs would be an advantage. (Work experience of at least 10 years is required)
  • Excellent strategic planning skills and able to interact with all levels.
  • Effective communication skills (both written and oral) in Greek and English;
  • Working knowledge of accounting software
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and in general Microsoft Office
  • Good analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail and determination to meet deadlines.

Requirements:

  • A master’s/bachelor’s degree in international affairs, political science, journalism.
  • Proven experience and skills in planning and implementing advocacy and campaign development.
  • Experience in humanitarian assistance and operating in an emergency context
  • Strong Greek and English communication skills, and ability to write quality advocacy materials, and communicate complex issues in a clear manner.

Solidaritynow (SN) aims at establishing a multidisciplinary team to staff its Protection Unit, tasked to support the implementation of its projects by ensuring access to protection services to refugees, asylum seekers and other vulnerable populations of concern. For this purpose, SN seeks to hire an appropriately qualified Protection Service Coordinator. The Protection Service Coordinator has a primary responsibility for the technical planning and implementation of the organization’s protection policies, in close collaboration with field staff and senior management. The post holder will be called upon as and when necessary to support the accommodation team in cases protection issues arise.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensures protection of refugees, asylum seekers and other vulnerable populations of concern benefiting from SN’s accommodation project, in accordance with international humanitarian standards and legally binding obligations.
  • Coordinates and organizes the day-to-day operations of the team unit
  • Plans and supervises the development, implementation and monitoring of standard operating procedures in relation to protection mechanisms and activities
  • Provides support and technical assistance to field staff

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor degree, preferably in Social Work. Other qualifications (e.g. Degree in Psychology, Social Sciences) will also be considered if work experience requirements are met.
  • Advanced degree or specialized qualification in a protection-related discipline will be considered an asset.

Degrees awarded by foreign institutions must be recognized by DOATAP. License to practice social work or psychology in Greece is essential.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of five years’ solid experience in social work and case management
  • Strong protection background (e.g. child protection, domestic violence, other forms of GBV), as well as demonstrated ability to identify and refer vulnerable cases.
  • Knowledge of Greek context in relation to social services provision, including national referral mechanisms and procedures is a must.
  • Experience and good understanding of refugee context is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience in setting up standard operating procedures and ensuring implementation.
  • Experience in conducting best interest/risk/needs assessments
  • Experience in case planning and following up
  • Experience in providing guidance to junior staff and capacity building

Specific duties

Monitoring and Data Collection

  • Conducts primary data collection, including interviews, surveys, and focus group discussions, upon request and according to the general and project-specific M&E plan, and in cooperation with other departments staff.

Accountability

  • Supports field teams on how to share relevant project information with communities so communities are aware of SN work (vision, mission, project plan).

Job Title :  SN Child Friendly Space Facilitator

Position Summary:

The CFS empowers the psychosocial support through informal recreational activities and creative engagement of children beneficiaries of the program under the guidance and instructions of the team coordinator and program. Specifically, the worker is concerned with educational and creative way underage beneficiaries, considering the special characteristics and present living conditions.
The employee must cultivate an atmosphere of respect and appreciation among beneficiaries and respect the skills and cultural background of each. Should promote fair play, collaboration and critical thinking. The worker is finally responsible for the supervision of the space in which he performs his duties during working time.

Position within the Organization:

Hierarchical Responsible: Macedonian Focal Point

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe and child-friendly atmosphere within the Child Friendly Space
  • Ensure a variety of games and activities within the Child Friendly Space, catering to the needs of children of different ages, genders, and abilities
  • Ensure that children feel comfortable, safe, and respected
  • Liaise with parents and the  community  regularly  to  keep  them  informed  of  any developments or problems within the Child Friendly Space and surrounding areas
  • Screen for and monitor protection needs and gaps in and around the Child Friendly Space
  • Refer children for Child Protection case management, and nutritional or medical care or other appropriate services and support as required
  • Ensure activities consistent with programme guidelines

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES

Essential

  • University Degree in Social Sciences (ie, Education, Psychology, Social Work etc)
  • Good communication and facilitation skills
  • Ability to adapt to changes in working environment
  • Commitment to understanding of SN aims, values and principles

Would be an asset

  • Arabic or Farsi language skills
  • Experience on working with migrant/refugee children

Job Title:  Education Officer

Generic responsibilities

  1. Implement educational activities, including language classes, according to the refugee population needs
  2. Develop an educational curriculum that targets and addresses the needs of different age groups, including adults and children
  3. Oversee distributions of teaching and learning material according to the population’s needs
  4. Update and maintain effective workplans
  5. Ensure ongoing monitoring, tracking and reporting of educational projects
  6. Supervise assistants and provide support to them in line with program objectives
  7. Develop and maintain effective filing systems, both electronic and hardcopy
  8. Support education, recreational and various activities

Qualifications

  • Degree – Bachelor degree in education
  • Proven knowledge of training, curriculum development, implementation and educational administration.
  • Proven academic or on-job training and understanding of the Project Cycle model in managing humanitarian assistance.
  • At least 1 year of professional experience in educational programs for refugees or rural communities.
  • Experience gained within an international humanitarian NGO will be an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical and administrative skills in the management of educational programs and mainly primary education.
  • Experience in report writing and excellent computer skills.
  • Experience in Training of Trainers/Facilitators skills will be an advantage
